We didn't do much actual sightseeing in Havana--we just sort of wandered around in a daze pointing at buildings. The old part of the city, the UNESCO-protected part, I found a bit dull because it was too tidy--it felt like walking into a cruise-ship port a little. FYI, there's a great iPhone app to Havana now (Sutro)--I wish we'd had it when we went, but this was pre-iPhone even!
Don't miss walking down this old boulevard. It takes you right to El Malecon, and La Punta the oldest of boardwalks and a spanish fortress. Charming at sunset.
