    Waimea Canyon

    85 reviews

Picture a shorter length grand canyon in a lush tropical paradise and you get this place. It is awe inspiring and very very beautiful. After flying over it and driving/hiking around in it, if you are in Kauai you MUST check this place out. Pictures and movies just do not do this place any justice. This is coming from a ...

    Haleakala National Park (Kula)

    172 reviews

The Haleleakala hike was pretty strenuous. We literally started at 8000 ft elevation, descended down 8 miles, then hiked up the side of the mountain for another 4 miles back to the van. Isaac, our tour guide, had done it 88 times. But I was surprised we finished the hike in about 6 hours and had just enough time to ...

    Kilauea Volcano

    47 reviews

it's the new flow and the only flow into the ocean currently in the world. It's a couple of miles drive down the highway from the house, park the car then get ready for a 20 minute or so hike. Night view is wonderful. Taking an early morning boat over to view the flow from the ocean is amazing too.

Beautiful scenery that cannot be beat. Taking the boat along the coastline allows you to appreciate the full unadulterated panoramic views. You can also hike the coastline and get nitty gritty on the trail. Either way - beautiful scenery to enjoy!

    Hanauma Bay Marine Preserve

    148 reviews

Hanauma Bay is a must-see spot on Oahu. The views from the top of the beach overlooking the bay are stunning, and a great place to park up on a bench early in the morning for some quiet time. The beach down below is full of corals, but has been overfished for years prior to becoming a reserve, so it's ...

    Na Pali Coast State Park

    65 reviews

Good for hiking although the first part can get a bit crowded. Slippery and muddy after rain. You can go to the beach a couple of miles in (where there are cairns and cats all over the place), carry on to the waterfall, or do the whole loop (more of an overnight backpacking trip).

    Lanikai Pillbox Trail

    29 reviews

The views were astounding at sunset! If it wasn't for our moon night hike, the trip would have been easily under an hour roundtrip. It is very steep at various locations. There also seems to be "multiple" paths, but they all lead to the same place. As of the hike a week or two ago, the designated parking lot for ...

    Pipiwai Trail

    7 reviews

Wherever you're staying on Maui, you must drive the road to Hana to Pipiwai Trail. Seriously the coolest thing to do on the island. The road is all hairpin turns with the most insane views. You need to be really careful and make safety beeps around blind turns, as there are many accidents. Once you get to Pipiwai you should ...

    Bamboo Forest

    31 reviews

One of the most magical hikes on Maui, and very difficult to find. There are no signs whatsoever. After you pass mile marker 6 look for cars parked on the side of the road. A narrow, slippery muddy trail will descend and take you through and amazing forest of towering bamboo, over streams and to 4 different waterfalls. Accessing the ...
