One of the best Sunday roasts around. Not cheap, but we'll worth it. Just go with someone with an expense account. That way you can get a martini and pretend you are on Mad Men.

The best steak I've ever had. Go if you're a steak lover. It's not cheap but is the very best without being formal and stiff.

The Hawskmoor have some of the best barmen in the world in their meaty hands, and as great as those steaks are, one should never neglect their cocktails. Yes the boys have done it again, and now they have their very own bar under the restaurant, no steaks in here (but yes, you can eat them upstairs).

This basement bar has good heritage in the form of a seedy Russian strip club. Sadly the pole was removed but they have replaced it with a very beautiful 60 cover space (think reclaimed mirrors/tiles/chemistry lab tops, etc) with coves that sit 5 to 7 people (we reckon 10) which can be booked, or you can just rock up and grab a stool at the bar.

Drinking? Yes please - they have 10 drinks on offer, 5 will stay and 5 will change every month or so. BarChick’s favourite is always Shaky Pete’s Ginger Brew, it goes down worryingly easily, then there was the Nuclear Banana Daiquiri – delicious but filling like a shake is. The Tobacco Old Fashioned is a real man’s drink, and the Green and Red Margarita was faultless.

Now for the bar snacks - so naughty, but so what! Highlights for us – the Umami and chicken burgers, the poutine which is chips, curd cheese and gravy, (not to mention the chicken skin on top) ouch! Then there's the wings... and special mention must also go to the shortrib nuggets, they are delicious balls filled with short rib meat… although not date friendly unless of course you are showing off and can swallow the whole ball in one!

Nestled away from the bustle of Covent Garden, Hawksmoor is undoubtedly the best steak restaurant in London, with a cocktail list that beats bars across the city. A favourite Saturday night haunt.

Get your meat sweats on with the best steaks (melt in your mouth), best cocktails (some lethal) and service (free drinks if you sit next to rude customers!) in town.

Hawksmoor is one of the best American style steak houses in London with a remarkable English character. A global selection of cocktails with a British twist is featured at the lively bar. A fine bottle Bordeaux along with a juicy 'bone-in-sirloin steak is a popular choice.
