The first thing I noticed about this motel was the oversized Heart O'Chicago sign that looked like something straight off the Las Vegas strip in all its gaudiness.
I was half expecting the standard motel rooms to be equally as garish, but was pleasantly surprised by the minimal and clean appearance. The magenta walls kept it from feeling too drab or stuffy.
As the motel is pretty far north of downtown, it kind of feels like you’re floating in the middle of nowhere, but a short walk down Ridge Street takes you to busy and bustling Clark Street, which runs through the heart of the Andersonville neighborhood.Recommended for:

This place is begging to have a movie shot here. It isn’t fancy. It feels like it doesn’t remodel too often, if ever. But it is clean. It’s very clean. That’s sort of its charm. I will admit to being very wary of it when I approached, but I was really won over. It’s basic. There’s Wi-Fi, free parking, and complimentary breakfast every morning. There are a ton of restaurants if you take a little walk down Clark, and the Clark bus can take you to Wrigley Field or downtown, though at that point it might almost be quicker to drive (though more expensive). I’d advise it more for visiting folks in Andersonville or Evanston than most other places in the city, only because it is so very north.
