The tag line for this place “affordable luxury accommodation in Queenstown” could not be further from the truth. Disappointingly basic, over-priced condo would be more accurate. Yes, you’re high enough up Queenstown Hill for the views out over downtown Queenstown and Lake Wakatipu to be magnificent; and watching the paragliders jump off the pine tree covered mountain opposite is totally mesmerising, but that’s only because you’d rather be looking outdoors than inside your miserable apartment. “Serviced apartments” is also a joke – the reception area itself seemed like an afterthought (especially when a few of us tried to squeeze in the there in the rain) and the staff took an eternity to respond to our calls. Did I mention the nightmarishly steep and narrow driveway and the hideous downhill walk into town? There are definitely better options than this in Queenstown for the price!

Queenstown has lots of hills and this establishment is on the top of one of the big ones. Sometimes a hill is worth climbing to get to something spectacular, sorry Heritage Height - not this time. These apartments may have been worth the climb a few years ago - but the years' haven't been kind. They really could use a tart up, a fresh coat of paint and some love. They are billed as a luxury accommodation option and it's hard to find much of anything that qualifies as luxurious about them. Small rooms, dinged walls, chipped paint and over used carpets and fixtures. The views out the big bay windows are great with the Skyline Gondola front and centre and the views of the town itself are equally spectacular. Unfortunately in a town as beautiful as Queenstown it takes more than the natural assets on offer for free to make a place worth staying in.
