Located inside the Városliget City Park, this is a replica of the Vajdahunyad castle in Transylvania. I stopped here on a warm and sunny day, the park was brimming with activity, tourists and local families alike. Splendid spot to sit, relax and recover from the previous night's erm excesses.

The House of Terror is a thought-provoking and somewhat disturbing museum. It contains exhibits related to the fascist and communist dictatorial regimes in 20th century Hungary and is also a memorial to the victims of these regimes, including those detained, interrogated, tortured or killed in the building.

    House of Terror

    0.84 mi from Heroes' Square
    4 reviews

Very impacting museum on the horrors inflicted during WWII and the communist regime on the Hungarian people. Cold, metal and stone building that really brought home just how recent and still hearfelt these atrocities are for the Hungarians. War criminal photos lined the walkway as you leave, people still being sought for torture and acts of terror.
