So neat to see the juxtaposition of the gardens and the skyscrapers! There is something poetically Japanese about having a big beautiful garden like this one right in the middle of such a big gray city. Definitely one of my favorite things to see in Tokyo!

I spent a very happy 1.5 hours in this park before taking the ferry to Asakusa. The guide proudly showed me their GPS park guide and it was very helpful as I walked around.

Last century, this was the parade ground for the Japanese Army, and now the nations first western style park has become an oasis for tired workers who on sunny days gather at lunchtime and have a few minutes repose from office-related stress. On weekends, the place is popular among courting couples. Close to the Imperial Palace and a short walk from Ginza, the Park also has a library, public ... read more
