My family and I own a timeshare and stay here for up to a week once a year. It's always pleasant and a nice break away from the city, work, deadlines and troublesome boyfriends. The staff is friendly but most of all the views are gorgeous! Stop in the lobby when you can, it overlooks the ocean. Very strict no pet policy!!Recommended for:

Absolutely fabulous in every way. Great service and incredible rooms with views of Big Sur. Rooms feature wood burning fireplaces. Some rooms have jacuzzis and kitchenettes. The inn is close to Carmel and about 15 min from Big Sur. The food and wine at the Pacific Edge lounge are superlative. it's not cheap, but for a special getaway and vacation it's well worthwhile.

Gayle and I came here as part of a time share deal. Otherwise, we probably couldn't afford it. And the mandatory time share presentation was low key, fun and interesting, even after we made it clear that for now we were not interested in buying.
This IS an incredibly beautiful hotel with amazing views. The room was incredible well appointed and comfortable. We also enjoyed our dinner at the Cafe (despite a certain faux pas that I made :)). We also enjoyed the nearby hike at Point Lobos and either going south to Big Sur or north into Carmel. We had a very nice time and felt that we were well taken care of.

Get a fire going and get cozy. The two-story suites and the views from the rooms are fabulous. The best spot in Carmel for a romantic weekend. Pacific Edge restaurant there is excellent as well. Service, food and wine selection are all fantastic. Pricey but completely worth it. A gorgeous scenic location for weddings.
