Aside from being LGBT-friendly, I love Hillcrest because it is one of the more walkable neighborhoods in San Diego. One could easily get there from Balboa Park and see many local boutiques and restaurants.Recommended for:

One of my favorite neighborhoods in San Diego. A diverse culture, and the gay-friendly hub of San Diego. It's very progressive and there's a lot of health conscious people in the area. Most if not all businesses in the area support gays and there is a wonderful Pride Festival/Parade here yearly and in Balboa Park. There are many locally owned businesses from cafes, to clothing stores, some adult stores, thrift stores, and gyms. It's a fantastic area with wonderful weather.. wait, isn't that everywhere in San Diego?Recommended for:

The (very obviously) gayborhood of San Diego! There are rainbow flags everywhere, almost every business has a rainbow flag up! And same sexed couples freely showing affection and holding hands walking down the street. And of course all the best stores and restaurants to choose from. It's a pretty fabulous place to be!Recommended for:

They are just as pretty in Hillcrest as LA, but it's a bit more intimate then WeHo will offer! Favorite spots to go down this way are Urban Mo's on a Sunday for brunch and people watching and then to Rich's for some dancing. Who knows, you might meet some ladies like these!
