This hotel is a great location in regards to downtown Boston. And if you're coming in for the marathon or a convention at the Hynes center, then its an even better location. But don't expect this hotel to try too hard to prove its worth. Underwhelmed with the interior, service, and amenities. The Sheraton across the street is better.

With close proximity near the Prudential, Hynes Convention Center, Newbury St., and Boylston St., the Hilton Back Bay’s location is excellent for establishing middle ground in the midst of the city. Full of businesspeople, executives, and professionals, Hilton Back Bay is the quintessential standard of a business hotel chain. With modern style, gym/pool features, and a business center, Hilton Back Bay does its best to accommodate people who are on the move. However, one particular downside to being in such a populated area was that the staff was constantly busy and hurried while catering to their guests. Rooms come equipped with the norm; television, refrigerator, and in-room safe, just to name a few. For a few days stay in Boston, the Hilton Back Bay won’t disappoint.Recommended for:

This is your typical large, slightly more upscale chain hotel. There is nothing truly spectacular about it, but I thought it was a very solid choice for business travelers or families touring around Boston. The lobby area is pretty expansive, with a full-service Starbucks and plenty of couches and chairs for lounging. The check-in desk always seemed to be buzzing with guests, so I definitely didn't feel that I got an overwhelmingly personalized experience. However, I thought the fitness center was pretty nice, and I loved that there was an indoor pool for year-round swimming. There was also a cool little rooftop patio with some tables and chairs, though the view from up there was not all that stunning or remarkable. There is also a Diamond Lounge for Hilton Honors members tucked away behind the lobby, which I thought was a pleasant surprise.Recommended for:

The Hilton in Back Bay is a popular choice for both families and business professionals alike. There are no surprises here. It is a standard, comfortable hotel with all of the expected amenities. The lobby is enormous, with shiny cream floors, and sectioned off carpeted areas for dining or working. And the rooms are as standard as they come--though I will say the decor wasn't all that attractive to me. The colors all look a bit faded and in need of a refresh, giving the spaces a mustier feel, even though they're all very clean and well maintained. This is a popular space for meetings, conferences in gatherings (they have 17 different meeting areas) so don't be surprised by the busyness of the lobby.Recommended for:

Nice hotel, good amenities. A good option in Back Bay, however it's at bit too much West to my liking... but you can easily walk to Copley Place and Newbury St. shopping.
