This hotel has changed names three times in as many years. The Hilton Garden brand is still pretty new here. It opened back in March of 2012, so it’s a bit early to see how it fill fare in an area with a number of other options. But it looks nice. I liked the vibrant colors in the lobby, and the friendly service.
The upside are nice perks like their partnership with Madame Tussaud’s—there’s always a featured celebrity figure in the hotel, which kids love—and if you show your room key at the “museum,” you get an $8 discount on admission. Another cute feature is the mini-Hollywood sign by the pool. For business travelers, the Library Room has a conference table for eight, and is complimentary. On the downside, parking is usually $30 per night, and all rooms are only about 285 square feet, but they do have nice ergonomic chairs.Recommended for:

You can easily walk to all the Hollywood Boulevard action from this smallish Hilton that offers good service and nice, light, clean rooms. The beds are extremely comfortable, and it’s not a bad place to work in (if you have to) with a big desk. I like the free wifi--the business center is convenient and efficient. Working out at the little gym or in the pool is relaxing, and the hotel restaurant offers easy breakfast and dinner. I love that you can walk up to the Hollywood Bowl--one of my favorite experiences in LA! Locals pack their cars in like sardines with horrible traffic, but if you’re staying here it’s just a 5 minute walk to incredible pop, jazz or classical music. In the other direction, walk south for 5 minutes to Mann’s Chinese theater and put your hands in Marilyn Monroe’s handprints in the sidewalk!Recommended for:
