The Hilton Universal City hotel is very conveniently located, since it is right across the street from the Universal Studios theme park and Universal City Walk (an outdoor strip of businesses, which includes lots of restaurants, bars, shops, a movie theater, and sometimes live events). Universal Citywalk is not all touristy delight though-- locals quite often catch some live music and dancing at the restaurants and clubs. If you're visiting LA and you are more of an adventurous traveler (and you're not planning to rent a car), you can also stay at the Hilton and have access to LA's Metro, which will take you to downtown Hollywood and Downtown Los Angeles. Location aside, the Hilton itself is eveything you'd expect of a chain with it's rank. Everything is clean and welcoming, for those traveling on business and families on vacation alike. There was a Starbucks in the building (hooray!), and the beautiful foliage of the indoor and outdoor cafes made lunch a welcoming prospect. I really loved the pool and the surrounding patio area, which had a pretty spectacular view of the Hollywood Hills between the trees. The pool is heated, plus there is a spa. It's a lovely place to have a drink and some food, and feel like you're nestled in the hills. The room also had an incredible view of the hills and Universal Studios, and being a workaholic I appreciated that there was high-speed internet access, a desk and a comfortable couch. The bathroom was surprisingly roomy. There is a gym that is accessible at any hour, with multiple cardio machines, mats, and a weight room. The staff is helpful and professional, again, what you would expect at a Hilton in such a central location of a major city. All in all, this Hilton doesn't disappoint.Recommended for:

Personal experience was during the time as Lounge Concierge for our VIP Tower guests; who always returned and booked months in advance. To add our guests entrusted their requests in our professional experties service! Universal Hilton is a 5***** Hotel.. CConcierge Services, highly recommends!!

Like all Hiltons this is a great hotel to stay in. The only problem with that hotel is the location, unless you are coming to Universal Studios and planning to stay here for most of your stay. The Hotel is located a minutes away from the park what makes the stay here for even more convenient in case you want to go to your room when the queues are too long

This is the huge tower hotel that's near Universal Studios. In fact, walking distance to the park if you're going. That, in fact is the only reason to stay here. The hotel looks like it did in the 70's and isn't really very cozy or warm. The amenities are fine and the staff is ok, but the location of the hotel doesn't really make it accessible to very much else. Yes, the metro is down the hill, but you can really only get downtown, or Hollywood on the red line. I would say use your money to stay elsewhere - maybe the West Side, unless your main tourist activities are in Hollywood and Universal City.

The Universal Hilton is probably best known to locals as having one of the most epic seafood buffets outside of Vegas. I mean, they serve shark fin soup and all you can eat king crab legs ... how much better does it get than that?
I've only stayed here once, and the rooms are average. Nothing to write home about.
But i've been to a few weddings here, and I have to say the banquet halls are really nice with huge chandeliers. It's very beautiful.
