    Mother's Restaurant

0.2 mi from Hilton New Orleans Riverside

Get in line, and early. (The line during the lunch rush will wrap the building.) Get a Ferdi or a Roast Beef Debris. ("Debris" is the pieces of meat that fall off the roast while it's cooking--think pulled pork.) Order it "dressed" that means pickles, cabbage, and creole mustard. Get an order of french fries as well--though'll you'll never finish ...

Go during lunch and get the stuffed lobster or grilled oysters, no exceptions. If you can, trek out to Metairie, and dine at the original location, and you might get served by the owner. However, if you go here, you might have to put up eating with celebrities, though I know that's such a hardship.

Jess and I went there for a civilized lunch during an otherwise uncivilized weekend. THey have a lunch prix fix special. We had a wonderful time. The food was amazing. The service was warm and welcoming. We really loved it and would go back next time we're in town.

Live music + clambake! Lobsters, crab legs, clams, mussels, corn, potatoes, shrimp, and crawfish. It takes a bit of work to eat, but who doesn't enjoy a big bowl of shellfish? Bring your appetite, because a boiling pot for two really serves 3-4 people. It's right by the Riverwalk and the Audubon Aquarium, so it's easy to drop in for ...

Absolutely a must during your visit to New Orleans. Best to leave for the evening or whenever you need to catch up your breath or early morning before the sun rises.

    Antoine's Restaurant

0.61 mi from Hilton New Orleans Riverside
    14 reviews

One of the Grand Dames of creole cuisine, Antoine's is a place you go for the history as much as the food, which is standard fancy fish-and-oyster fare. You'll probably draw some negative attention if you're not dressed for dinner, so gents, wear a tie. What sets it apart from other, similar institutions are its spectacular private dining rooms and ...

617 Ursulines Avenue. Some of the most memorable croissants I have ever had; scrumptious is not enough; they were very beautiful. I felt quite at ease here, and the floor tiles I really liked. You can have a nice light lunch here, or simply sip your coffee and milk and nibble on a wonderful baked good. They even had madeleines!

    Stanley

0.83 mi from Hilton New Orleans Riverside

Oh, the brunch at Stanley! When a good friend left town, one more Stanley! brunch was a final order of business. The more affordable counterpart to the jaw-dropping Stella!, this half of Tennessee Williams' screaming pair features personalized variations on the classic eggs Benedict, which are the tallest I've ever seen. It's bustling (with a long wait) on weekends but ...

    Jimmy J's Cafe

0.41 mi from Hilton New Orleans Riverside

I stumbled into this quaint little colorful New Orleans diner off of Charters expecting nothing more than the usual cup of Joe and hot breakfast you would associate with any local breakfast cafe. To my delight the meal I was served can only be described as the closest thing to a religious experience I have ever had. Everything was made ...

The creators of the legendary Muffuletta. Don't know what that is? Here is a quick description from Wikipedia: A traditional muffuletta consists of one muffuletta loaf, split horizontally. The loaf is then covered with a marinated olive salad, then layers of capicola, salami, pepperoni, emmentaler, ham and provolone. The sandwich is sometimes heated through to soften the provolone.[2] The size ...

    Napoleon House

0.54 mi from Hilton New Orleans Riverside
    27 reviews

I am not really into New Orleans, but I like the French Quarter and I like this place. They have a great Pimms Cup and their back patio is really nice. There's a lot of Quarter-style ambiance, without the trashiness of Bourbon Street. The food isn't anything exciting, but it's good, and the drinks are great.

    Pat O'Brien's Courtyard Restaurant

0.7 mi from Hilton New Orleans Riverside

The true home of the Hurricane, and the only place in New Orleans where you can get a 3 foot high version topped with orange slices and cherries that'll set you back a cool $1K. (Don't forget to bring twenty of your closes friends with you to drink it, unless you want your next stop to be Charity Hospital.)
