Very clean and comfortable with a good view out to the West Hills of Portland. What you'd expect from a Hilton in the heart of a city. Great central location for exploring Portland via foot.

Easy access downtown Portland parking with in and out priviledges, and standard hitlon room affair. What blew me away from my experience here is the gym. Indoor pool, cardio machines, free weights, racketball court, and towel service. Staff was very helpful when it cam to recomending local restaurants. Will definately repeat.

I stayed at the Hilton Portland and had a great experience. Normally I don't invest much either way in the hotel staff but the service at this hotel was extremely pleasant and accommodating. The rooms were big and comfortable and it was a great location for first timers visiting Portland.

I attended a conference here and was very pleased I chose to stay here as well. The rooms are comfy, clean and nice decor. I may be biased because my room was at the end of the hallway, with a corner window facing the river. Walking distance to Pioneer square and several food cart pods. It also has nice facilities for a conference.

The largest hotel in the state of Oregon, the downtown Hilton occupies two city blocks (including the newer Executive Tower). It’s popular with both leisure and business travelers, although the slight majority of the guests here are in town for conventions, many of which are held at the Hilton itself. There’s also a large indoor swimming pool, an extensive fitness center, a couple of restaurants (with room service until 11:30 pm) and a bar. Because of its size, it can feel a bit impersonal at times, which is great for anonymity but not so nice if you prefer the cozy boutique vibe that so many other downtown properties aim to offer. The décor here is a bit 1980s airport generic, but they plan to do a complete renovation in the later part of 2012.

Slightly out of date, this large hotel is a central hub for many conventions and traditional Portland events, such as the Portland Marathon.

This is not what I would call a cozy hotel, but if a central downtown location, good amenities, and a comfortable room is what you need, then this hotel should be acceptable, especially if you are attending a convention or meeting at the hotel.

The overall ambience of the hotel is somewhat dull, used, dark, and impersonal. The room I stayed in was a little dated and boring, with a limited room service menu. I'm told there is going to be some renovations to the rooms and that should help.

The amenities include all you would expect including a clean swimming pool, fitness center, and wifi. Parking, as always in the downtown area, is expensive and in my opinion hard to justify.

If you prefer a little more modern style, intimacy and luxury, then this hotel may not be for you.

    First to Review

This review is for the Hilton meeting space facilities only.

During the Convention this week, I actually stayed at The Nines and walked over here several times. I had no less that 3 separate meetings here, all in different sized rooms and with a variety of catering and stair climbing. I didn't have high expectations for "institutional" settings such as this and I wasn't disappointed! Everything was OK, but if I wanted to hold a meeting that actually reminded me that I was in Portland, I might shop around. From the confines of my conference rooms, I could have been in Des Moines, Calgary, or anywhere else considering the sameness of it all.
