A gorgeous, comfortable, and pampering hotel with the friendliest restaurant staff I've ever met. The views are unbeatable, the beds are swallow-you-up delightful, and each room has a balcony so you can fully enjoy an ocean-view sunset. The only downside is that the hotel is a bit removed from downtown, making transportation/convenience a little tricky.Recommended for:

The Hilton located downtown on the harbor is beautiful. The staff is friendly but the food is mediocre at best. Location is good but would recommend for business or meeting/event since it is located downtown and not in the beach areaRecommended for:

One of the nicest hotels in Downtown San Diego. Sits right on the Marina and has some fantastic views of the Bay. Also connected to the Convention Center so great for business travelers or conventioneers. Vela is a great restaurant inside the hotel.Recommended for:

This Hilton Bayfront is conviently located near the Gaslamp District. Close to the train lines that will take you all the way to Santee, this contemporary hotel sits on the water front overseeing Coronado. The rooms are nice. Next door to the San Diego convention center and across Petco Park.

This hotel is beautiful! We loved our stay here. There is a great restaurant, bar, fitness center, and pool area. I loved that this was at one end of the harbor. Far enough from the hustle and bustle and yet still within a short walk to seaport village and the Gaslamp. There's a Starbucks connected to the hotel. The bar at the pool makes killer mojitos :)

This place is pretty new. The rooms are sweet. And you get an awesome view of the water.
The Hilton San Diego Bayfront hotel is adjacent to the Gaslamp Quarter district
If you are looking to party near Gaslamp. You can pre-party here and walk over in 5-10 mins.
There is a liquor store a few blocks away in case you forgot to stock up.
Typical of all of San Diego, parking cost are @!#$@#$. WTF,27 for self parking or 36 for valet.
Plus: they have a starbucks in the lower lobby.
Don't forget to stop by the pool. Enjoy some California sun.

A well appointed and nice new Hilton with some logistical problems. It works well as a conference hotel if you're just in the hotel or in the convention center next door, but it's kind of a pain to walk over to the rest of downtown, which is literally on the other side of the tracks. The hotel's dining and Starbucks are inexplicably only accessible from outside -- you have to literally exit the hotel and walk around the building to get to them. The exits/entrances are not particularly well marked and it's pretty confusing.

I came here for the Gartner Cloud Conference this past summer and was impressed by the cleanliness of the property and friendliness of the staff. The convention center food and beverage service was among the best that I have seen and far exceeded that of the much larger OracleWorld in San Francisco. I enjoyed a nice lunch of coq au vin on the restaurant patio overlooking San Diego Bay. My only complaint was finding the entrance to the hotel when arriving on foot from over by the San Diego Convention Center.

For all intents and purposes this is a hotel you go to for business purposes. Seeing that it’s right next to the convention center, much of it’s clientele stay here while whatever show they’re attending is going on next door. That being said there’s still stuff for the kids to do too. The pool is quite large and it’s filled with salt water (just in case you travel with your pet manta ray like I do), and the cavernous lobby and six floors of meeting spaces would make a great place to play hide and go seek or tag. Well, I probably shouldn’t endorse that kind of thing. Here’s a tip: ask for a room with a bay/city view. The view is quite spectacular.Recommended for:

This hotel is huge. Feels very corporate-ish. Nothing to write home about.
But, it's got nicely appointed rooms.
This hotel is very near water and also near some fun downtown streets.
But, it's hard to get to either, as you have to cross a street using overpass to get downtown and the hotel is so big that the water front seems so far away.
Overall, still not bad, but not great.
