Pretty good hotel! I give it 3.5 stars.
The hotel is huge, taking up an entire block. It's located right at Taylor and O'Farrell. They call it the "Union Square" location, but it's cutting pretty close, and is right at the border of the Tenderloin district. The back side is on Ellis St, which is not the best street to be walking up. It smells of urine and despair, and filled with lots of homeless and other shady looking people. We made the mistake of walking up Ellis to get to this thai restaurant. I have stayed two blocks over at the Warwick and walking around that area and down into Union Square near Market was NEVER a problem, and I always felt safe even when walking alone.
The Hilton staff were great. Everyone was helpful, friendly and courteous. The rooms were always clean and spacious (Tower 2, 11th floor). They have a Fed Ex in the lobby, as well as a Starbucks that is over priced (walk a few blocks and get cheaper coffee/drinks/food at another Starbucks), and the Urban Tavern if you want to grab some drinks or a bite to eat.
There are lots of places to sit in the lobby if you are waiting for a tour pick up or something. Concierge was always helpful! They helped us locate a store to get wine packing boxes from as well as where I could pick up some 49ers stuff that was just a few blocks away, to setting up a town car when we were headed to the Oakland Hilton before flying out.
The hotel is pretty pricey, and I probably would not stay here at their going rate. We used our HH points. I would rather stay somewhere with more "bells and whistles" and a nicer room for the price. But if you're planning to stay here, it's not bad!

I got lost many times in this hotel - and it's not just because I have a bad sense of direction. The Hilton in Union Square is enormous. They often host conferences here just because of its large capacity (and because there is a Starbucks in the lobby that can keep people fueled).
The rooms are standard size, comfy and practical. While the Union Square area can be a bit sketchy at night, there are a lot of great restaurants in the neighborhood (especially Indian eateries), or you can grab a bite at the adjacent Urban Tavern, which also has a really good happy hour.Recommended for:

It's on the pricier end, but in exchange you get a great, central location for exploring the city; good service; a nice room and a view of the Bay. Definitely worth the extra cash.Recommended for:

The hotel is located in the heart of San Francisco, around all that you might wish ... good restaurants, great shopping, access to public transportation, museums and much more.
The rooms are confortable, very clean, has excellent beds and sheets and duvets have a great quality. Friendly and attentive staff.
As for parking, prefer those across the streetl which are always half of the price of the hotel´s.

Located just 10 minutes walk of the Powell Street BART station, this is the usual Hilton hotel I stay at while in the city. I love the high floor views of the city, Golden Gate bridge and the San Francisco Bay. The bad: no executive lounge!

I left my heart in San Francisco at the Hilton! A 2-story suite with a Grand Piano! Need I say more? A butler kitchen with real size appliances, an ice maker, a table for 12, Views that take your breath away, a veranda only 30 stories up and all the way around, and service like none other. The Spa is warm, welcoming and oh so affordable!! I hope the Golden Sun will shine for me, again!!!
