I really enjoyed the historic aspect of this inn. It was in a prime location and I felt it really kept up with the New Orleans experience for me. I will definitely be coming back next time I visit. (The lady at the front desk was kind of a jerk though)

Situated right on Decatur Street near the Riverwalk, the French Market Inn is French Quarter Central: a few blocks away from Canal Street, Cafe du Monde, Jackson Square and other French Quarter landmarks. Its matter-of-fact lobby decorated with plain furniture but sparkly chandeliers announces the hotel's personality: clean and efficient, with touches of New Orleans. Its larger intent seems to be to give you a place to chill while your real adventures lay outside. (It's no small thing that the lobby opens onto local coffee franchise CC & Company; there's nothing like waking up in New Orleans after a long night searching for coffee!) Although the walk to the room left something to be desired (French Market Inn is under renovation, so: no pool, a shabby elevator in place of the nicer one being renovated), there was a cute courtyard and the room and bathroom was quite nice. French Market Inn is for the slightly picky traveler who wants more than a place to crash but isn't looking for spas, fitness centers, and reasons to hang out at the hotel.
