The centrepiece of Hanoi's Old Quarter, this pretty urban park makes a great place for a stroll, with some good surrounding bars and restaurants, and the ability to walk for whole minutes without the threat of being run over by a speeding scooter. The temple-pavilion in the center of the lake is hardly worth the price of admission, but it's a pretty place and a good spot for a bit of photography.Recommended for

Hoan Kiem Lake is located right by the Old Quarter in Hanoi. It's a lovely place to stroll around during the day. At night, the red colored bridge and monument comes alive with the bright lights and lovers huddled on the benches. It's lovely.Recommended for

its definitely a place worth visiting...at night you'll see many families, friends, and/or couples strolling around. You'll also see many exercising...from running to rollerblading to tai chi to even lifting weights. You'll see how Vietnamese and tourists all over.Recommended for

Go there around 5.00 am in the morning if you can, because this is the only time you will see the whole city doing thai chi, all kinds of other sports even aerobic classes for ladies organised around the lake... And believe me this is an amazing view to watch, if you want you can join the classes...
After they finish with sports, they visit the temple, pray... and this is how a day in Hanoi starts...

It's a must go place if you are in Hanoi. I was not impressed by it when I used to visit Hanoi for work, but as a tourist, I could appreciate it more - especially after seeing how the local enjoying the view or even strolling along the bank

Hoan Kiem Lake is rather pretty and has some nice paths and benches around it. If you go in the early morning or the evening you can watch people running and doing exercise classes. And at midday you will see a lot of brides and grooms having photoshoots!

The cetner of Hanoi, an absolutely beautiful place. Start your day here with Tai Chi in the morning, or coffee and croissant, or end it with a leaisurely walk after dinner. Just make sure you visit.
