I was a little bit confused about how to get to this hotel from the outside since you have to walk down alongside the river quite a ways, but it's a lovely, scenic walk past the Merchandise Mart Hall of Fame and the Chicago River. I've always loved the bridges that connect the city over the river so I didn't mind having to walk a little further. You can also get in through the actual Merchandise Mart via a skywalk, which I didn't know at first!

The Holiday Inn is located in a large building with a ton of space. The lobby area is massive and features the Cityscape bar with amazing views of the city, as well as Italiasia, a Italian and Pan Asian fusion restaurant with an assortment of wines from around the globe.

With a room on the top floor, it was awesome to look out at the lobby below as all the rooms are around the outside of the hotel and the center is left open to look down upon the sprawling lobby area. The rooms were also large in size and kept very nice and tidy.

The bellman David was my favorite! Such a sweetheart. I definitely recommend staying here.
