Holiday Inn Express - Boston Garden

280 Friend Street, Boston, MA 02114
1 review

This Holiday Inn can be found on a nondescript street across from the TD Garden. The guestrooms are small, basic, no-frills spaces, but they certainly serve their purpose as a convenient place to catch some Z’s after a long night over at the Garden (and the subsequent celebration—we hope!). That said, it goes without saying that it can get pretty ...

    Boston beer works

0.07 mi from Holiday Inn Express - Boston Garden
    2 reviews

Awesome comfort food at Boston Beer Works, their nachos are a staple of mine. They make their own beer and have enough of a selection for just about everybody. Went on a tour of the brewery once which was real cool to see also.

    Sullivan's Tap

0.04 mi from Holiday Inn Express - Boston Garden
    1 review

Sully's is your typical Boston sports bar. You will see locals. You will see people wearing jerseys of non-boston teams get heckled or teased. The atmosphere is fun despite being a bit grungy. On game nights this is the place to be!

    Pizzeria Regna

0.24 mi from Holiday Inn Express - Boston Garden
    1 review

One of the best place to eat pizza in Boston. There's always a line out the door. Waiting to be seated. We were fortunate enough to be sat at the bar with a hilarious bartender who was always around when we needed him. All the pizzas are really good. Can't point out my favorite. You can also call in advance ...

    Mike's Pastry

0.38 mi from Holiday Inn Express - Boston Garden
    52 reviews

It's impossible to walk through North End without spotting Mike's pastry box. This is arguably one of the best dessert places in Boston. On the weekend, be prepared to wait in long lines for access to the delicious cannoli's. There is a great variety of all sorts of Italian pastry, at reasonable prices. Makes for a great gift as well!

    Neptune Oyster

0.3 mi from Holiday Inn Express - Boston Garden
    21 reviews

Let's just start with this: It was worth the 3 hour wait. Get there early, give them your number, and they'll call you when your table is ready. In the mean time you can just hang out in the lovely cafes in the surrounding area. This place serves the best oysters I've had, and all the other (cooked) dishes are ...

    Union Oyster House

0.34 mi from Holiday Inn Express - Boston Garden
    21 reviews

Union Oyster House, described as "America's oldest restaurant," was established in 1826. Think of all the historic people who might've dined here! Located on the Freedom Trail and just a block from Faneuil Hall, it's a place steeped in history. I've not been, but I've heard great things about their clam chowder, and now dining at Union Oyster House is ...

    Modern Pastry

0.36 mi from Holiday Inn Express - Boston Garden

I hadn't brushed up on anything "Boston" before arriving here. When I saw the line outside the door of Modern Pastry, I knew that I had to wait in it for something. Unfortunately, I really didn't have a hankering for anything and especially not cannoli--it just wasn't speaking to me. The server did say they were best known for their ...

    Giacomo's Restaurant

0.41 mi from Holiday Inn Express - Boston Garden
    11 reviews

Call me a glutton for punishment, but I was one of the people who was willing to wait in line, out in the cold, for an hour and a half for a taste of Giacomo's. The restaurant is very small, which is why the wait can get long. However, once inside, the amazing lobster ravioli and shrimp and scallop pasta ...

    Caffe Vittoria

0.37 mi from Holiday Inn Express - Boston Garden
    11 reviews

Some friends and I ducked into Caffe Vittoria one afternoon because Mike's Pastry next door was way too much of a madhouse to have a decent conversation. We had the chocolate cannoli and a cappuccino. The cannoli was a normal size (vs. the monster ones at Mike's), but the shell was a little over-fried in my opinion. Definitely a decent ...

I feel this review is only appropriate after spending $400 here on a meal for two. I got the chef's tasting menu and although I felt a little jipped (I was expecting 16 shared courses and each course literally consists of two pieces of nigiri so it is not a lot of food) but I ended up with only 15 ...

Alibi Bar & Lounge at Liberty Hotel

0.51 mi from Holiday Inn Express - Boston Garden

I would give this place a 5-star for their decor, but not so much for their service. Alibi Bar is located on the ground floor of the Liberty Hotel, which is historic and well known for being a prison once upon the time. We were greeted by a jaded, grumpy manager when us girls came into the bar. You would ...

Apparently my friend Eric F did not enjoy like this place all, but I have to say quite the opposite. The Paramount is an experience unlike any other I have had for lunch/brunch/breakfast and I can't believe places like this still exist, much less in Boston! When you find this restaurant, you will find a fat line out the door. ...
