- Holiday Inn on Flinders MelbourneFirst to ReviewOct 21, 2013
For a budget hotel, the Holiday Inn on Flinders Lane is probably my first choice. First of all, the location is pretty unbeatable as it is just a stone's throw from Flinders Street train station in the heart of the CBD and also just a short distance from Port Melbourne. The staff was very friendly and the whole hotel was bright, colorful and clean. The guestrooms were large with plenty of light and through the bathroom was nothing fancy, there was also nothing wrong with it. A few pieces of fitness equipment and a small heated outdoor pool round out the hotel’s amenities.Recommended for:

Yes, it’s central and yes, it’s a name brand, but it is a little overpriced for what you get, which is a standard hotel room and a bathroom that needs another cleaning. The room had a lot of light and the gym and pool were a surprise when considering the hotel’s star rating. Truthfully, if you’re travelling with a family or as a backpacker, you’ll probably enjoy the comfort, and with Southern Cross station down the road and Crown Casino and South Bank a short walk away it is an enjoyable location. Personally, I had a better stay at the Best Western Atlantis.Recommended for:
