I stayed here years ago and it was a little better than what Rene describes. I liked the waterfront location, the proximity to Downtown, and the fact that it was cheap. And very retro 1970s Holiday Inn.

This Holiday Inn is need of a drastic face lift STAT.
Located along the waterfront, I originally thought that this hotel would make a for a nice stay and far enough away from the craziness to give me a comfortable nights stay. From the very beginning I knew I was dead wrong. The parking area is confusing. After finding a parking spot trying to find the main lobby/check in area was a challenge.
There are separate towers and I was assigned to the tower furthest away from the the checkin desk. Oh well, once I get to my room I can relax and unwind. Again, I was wrong, my room was dated and did not get the feeling it was entirely clean. The carpeting was old and the bed had tiny pillows that I could never find a position to make myself comfortable. Truthfully the bed gave me the heebie-jeebies. The bathroom was dark and cavelike. I have nothing against caves, but the thought of having to go spelunking to take a shower just did not appeal.
As for getting a restful nights of sleep, you can toss that straight out the window. Even though my room was on a higher floor, I could hear the train whistle all night and into the wee hours of the morning.
The hotel bar was nothing special, but was fine. I met one of my co-workers for a drink and were treated to a decent happy hour of martinis and gimlets for half price.
Considering I could have stayed at the Hyatt down the street for just $10 more I was very disappointed. Unless you find a screaming deal on priceline I would not consider staying here.
