I stayed here a few times over the years with both friends and family. It is your standard Holiday Inn everything nice and standard, nothing too fancy but also well kept. The great thing about this hotel is the location! It is right down town very near to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. Great central location to explore the city from!Recommended for:

There's good news and bad news to this location. In the daytime, it can't be beat. It's only a few blocks to the Air and Space Museum and the other Smithsonian buildings. One of the closest hotels. And it's an easy walk to Capitol Hill, the metro and to any number of government agencies.
The problem is this neighborhood is very dead a night, when the government offices and the museums have shut down. If you just want to stay in the hotel, there are perfectly good food and drink options. But there are better locations if you want to sample the local scene.Recommended for:

This hotel was so centrally located we NEVER needed to use any transport to go everywhere. The staff were extraordinary and were so helpful with our two young children by advising superb options to keep them entertained during our 4 days stay in the Capitol. The Whitehouse, Washington Monument, and The Capitol Building were just a small part of our amazing review of this fantastic city.Recommended for:

This Holiday Inn is abuzz with government employees and conference goers. It's on the House of Representatives side of the Capitol and is not as upscale as the many hotel offerings on the Senate side, closer to Union Station. The staff was nice, but seemed a bit overworked.
There are a couple of restaurants, a deli and a Starbucks right there. I liked the fresh fudge in the gift shop. But, really, the hotel just felt kind of worn. I'd only stay there if I had nearby government business.Recommended for:
