Pretty great to see the main attractions: Hollywood sign, Kodak theatre, etc. Just depressing seeing all the actors/directors/writers that aren't working at the moment sitting on the sidewalk getting wasted. Kind of reminds me of the Boulevard of Broken Dreams...Recommended for:Local Culture

There's something alluring about knowing you're walking in the midst of such fanfare for all of these celebrities, seeing who's star comes next while ambling on down the sidewalk, and discovering some of your faves (which I indeed did). The stars go on and on, and on both sides of Hollywood Blvd.
I did notice that right off the Walk of Fame, in McDonald's for breakfast, quite a few people that seemed homeless or borderline unsavory.

Hollywood = Hollyweird. Crazy, colorful, exciting, dirty, and one of a kind. You'll mingle with Jesus, Michael Jackson, and Marilyn Monroe on Hollywood Boulevard, stargaze the real, living celebrities at Kodak Theater, or simply arrive with a grin on your face, filled with the age-old dream to make it big in this merciless city.

Hollywood isn't the fancy town that you think it is. Aside from a couple of well known landmarks, it's actually a pretty sketchy place and you need to be careful walking around.

What can I say? It's Hollywoodland baby!! You come to this place for one thing and that's the movies! There is so much to see and do here it's unbelievable. My advice is in addition to hitting up all the normal spots throughout the day, drive through the area after 10 when there is no traffic. The open streets and the cool southern Californian air will welcome you and you can see a lot more in a short amount of time. This is also when a great deal of starlets are known to prowl the streets looking to be seen.
