This hostel is deceivingly awesome. From the outside you might almost miss it amidst the hustle and bustle of Hollywood & Highland. However, once you go up the narrow stair case you land in a very fun and funky place. If you want to do the main tourist destinations and get that sort of experience from your LA stay and you're on a budget I'd definitely recommend Hollywood International. However, you best be young-- or at least young at heart! You feel like you're hanging out at a college dorm. Complete with lockers in the halls, and a communal kitchen, bar/lounge area, laundry and bathrooms. It's literally across the street from the Metro (not to mention, the entire Hollywood & Highland complex) so it's great if you're without car and want to hit up the main tourist spots.

This is a great place to stay for backpacker types, especially if you’re in college or even a little older. The website clearly states that proof of international travel is required, but if you’re an American who wishes to stay here, you can do so as long as you have a bus or plane ticket to another city where you’re heading after Los Angeles. There’s a youthful vibe here, with lots of cool graffiti art. The common area has communal seating areas and a sound system, and the people who work here are young, friendly, and helpful. There’s no parking specifically for the hostel, but there are plenty of nearby lots. The cool thing is that it’s right next door to Jimmy Kimmel and right across from the TCL Chinese Theatre.
High-speed Internet access is available free throughout the property. Other amenities include free coffee and tea, free use of linens and blankets, and free movies.
There are several different room types at Hollywood International Hostel, including dorm rooms with four to six beds, as well as private rooms (bathrooms are still shared).
Additional fees and deposits may be charged by the property at time of service, check in, or check out.
