It's fun to walk around and try to see how many of the old TV and movies stars you recognize. If you're really old there are radio personalities as well. It's a good way to walk around and reminisce.

I don't know why anyone would walk the entire three and a half miles of the Hollywood Walk of Fame just to look at five point stars containing names of Hollywood personalities. However, the embedded stars do provide a diversion as you walk from place to place. The Walk of Fame is administered by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which owns the copyright and trademark. For a name to be inserted, there is a nominating process and a $25,000 fee.

It was really cool to walk along the Walk of Fame looking for names and noticing some of the more bizarre ones. I was looking for Patrick Swayze's and it was really tough to locate, but we did manage to track it down.Recommended for:Local Culture

Dirty and poor, that's my memory from the famous boulevard. Daily time it has nothing to do with the glory, which every tourist imagine.
Homeless lie around, boulevard and stars are spotted by oil, gums and who knows what else. Smell not good, looks not good. I am sorry that an illusion was killed.
The municipality has to make some efforts that the place looks at least fake glory as people from EU or Asia expects to be.

You can walk her from the apartment. Lots of action here. Great shopping and eating mall called Hollywood Highland. The closest metro is located here. The Kodak theater, where the academy awards are held, is here. There is a wax museum and a theater called El Capitan where anaimated movies are shown, and a theater for all the latest movies at the old Chinese Grumman's theater.

I find the Hollywood Walk of Fame a useless and unreliable means to name "stars"? Why would a dog have a star but not Clint Eastwood? There is a long list of more deserving stars that should be there, but, surprisingly, they are not. You say, because they were not nominated... But who nominates who? I think, the organizers should start thinking changing the process. LOOK AT THE RECORDS instead of relying at the nominations (nominations have the tendency to miss out more important stars). Then and only then can the Walk of Fame be really appreciated and looked up highly. As of now, it is just crap.

It was fascinating walking down the seemingly endless plethora of stars denoting the Hollywood performers who've been recognized over the years. The Walk of Fame, stretching down both sides of Hollywood Blvd, doesn't have every star you can think of; I had learned beforehand that Clint Eastwood, for instance, didn't pay the thousands it would have taken for starters, to have his name inscribed there. It's interesting to amble on down the sidewalk just to see who's names you'll run into.

Definitively one of the most cliche places to go when you are in the US or Los Angeles, but if you must, do check it out. Search for the stars you recognize, pose with the Elvis impersonator, and be at awe that you are right next to the theater where they hand out the Oscars. This is the entertainment capital of the world, right here after all.
