Is it wrong to say that I liked Hollywood Blvd better when it was grungy on the edge of dangerous? It's rather boring since it's Disney-ification. Well, it's still fun to come across an unexpected star. Knowing what I know now about how the Walk of Fame process works ("stars" basically now buy their way in), recent additions are viewed upon with many grains of salt. God help me if any Kardashians place a star, I will buy a star for myself.

I truly loved it, It has something nostalgic about it, you recall a lot of famous people in the acting and music history. I was thrilled to see my favourites. I had no idea the walk of fame was that long, it looked endless at some point.Recommended for:History Buffs

As a local I see it daily, I can't really see the draw to it really. I mean maybe for 20 minutes, see some names on the ground. But what I see too much of, is tourists touching the filthy ground (pee'd and spit on, by millions of people daily) to get a picture of themselves with a name of their favorite star. Blech!

Thought it was dirty, scary and just...will never go there again. In fact, I thought despite Rodeo Drive the majority of the entire LA/Hollywood area was not at all what I thought it would be. I did see the occasional star but they are just normal people doing normal boring things and it's more fun to watch them on screen pretending to be the amazing real life people doing incredible things. Just seeing them pick their nose kind of ruins it, but then again, I don't read gossip mags, watch Entertainment tonight and don't think celebrities are anything other than people who have interesting jobs with some serious downsides to their job.

Kinda feel like if you have seen pictures of this place, it is like having been. Not too exciting, but so iconic, that it is probably worth going to get your picture taken with your favorite star.

Spend time and find your favorite actor/singer/etc's star. Go compare your feet and hand size.
Lookout for costume theme characters. You might find Bumblebee, Spiderman or Elmo. Don't seem cheap: Tip them. It's hot being in a costume.
If you are lucky, you might actually see them putting in a star. Not sure whom to contact to find out.
And if you take the metro, red line drops you off in the middle of the action.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame has stars embedded in the sidewalk, most of them label with an actor's, or other cinema artist's, name. Each star is marked with one of the five categories allowed on the walk. There are some rule benders though. Find the fictional characters and astronauts, for instance.

I love how we all wander down the Walk of Fame, looking for our favorite stars as if they were frozen into the sidewalk like Han Solo in Star Wars. Silly as we are, a stroll down legendary Hollywood Boulevard is a must, even if for a few minutes, during any trip to LA.
