Kua Bay Beach Park

This beach has white powder sand and crystal clear water. Great for swimming and boogie boarding. There is also good snorkeling along the edges. There are bathrooms and showers.

Magic Sands Beach Park / Laaloa Beach Park

This beach is great for swimming and boogie boarding, and is close to our condo. There is an excellent dive spot in the bay that is on the other side of the parking lot from the beach.

Papakolea Green Sand Beach

We love this place, but it is a 3 mile walk each direction. You can pay the locals $20 per person to drive you in the back of their 4x4s.

Makalawena Beach

This is our favorite beach! Perhaps the most beautiful beach is all of Hawaii. It is a 1/2 hour hike (or more if you take your time). Wear good shoes, because some of this hike is on a lava path.

Kopelani Incorporated

They have the best coffee in Kona! (also the best ice cream)

Manta Ray Experience

One of the most exciting things to do on The Big Island, is a night dive or snorkel with the Manta Rays. There are many dive shops and boat charters that offer this.

Fish Hopper - Kailua-Kona

Great place to try the local fish.
