Parque Punta Sur

If your looking for a break from Mexican this where to go, a mix of swiss and italian food, a local favorite for 20+ years, try the sangria. The restaurant offers free wifi so it is pretty busy on cruise ship days and full of cruise ship crew. Busy in the evenings with locals....

Mega Grocery Store

Basically a Mexican version of Wall Mart, the largest grocery store on the island, very nice produce and meat selection and a vast selection of wine, beer, and spirits. A $2-$3 taxi ride from the house, one way, or a 10 minute walk and taxi back.

Los Otates

One of the most famous taco restaurants on the island. In the same location for 20+years, all sorts of tacos, dinner for two with beer will run about $15. Now open for lunch, busy at lunch with tourists, busy at dinner with locals and open late, 3am+ on weedends. 5 minute walk from the house....
