Miami Beach, Miami Beach, FL 33139Phone: 1 305 539 3000 (Tourist Information)Distance: 0.99 mi
This section of Miami Beach has become synonymous with Miami, for better or worse. Packed to the gills with beach-goers, club-seekers, tourists and locals alike, come to South Beach for eye-candy, alcohol, and sun. Whether you spend all day in the water and on the sandy beach or simply hang out across the street at a restaurant, hotel or bar with a water view, South Beach is a place to see and be seen, relax, party, and enjoy some of the most ridiculous and raucous activities Miami has to offer. Expect crowds and limited parking-- bikes recommended!

Miami International Airport (MIA)

Phone: +1 305 876 7000Distance: 10.45 mi
There is really nothing "MIA" from Miami International Airport – with daily flights to Latin America, Africa, and Europe, South Florida’s principal airport is the nation’s 12-busiest airport. The airport is only eight miles northwest of downtown. Metrorail: To access the Metrorail line, take the Airport Flyer bus from the ground level of Concourse E. Airport Flyer Bus: This convenient service drops riders off at the Metrorail station, downtown Miami and in South Beach. Commuter Rail (Tri-Rail): Miami’s commuter rail system, Tri-Rail, to MIA at Miami Airport Station. As of September 12, 2011 there will be a train that connects the airport with the station, but until then, a shuttle will continue to connect travelers with the train with a shuttle bus found at the ground level of Concourse E. Taxi: There are flat rates for destinations all over the city, and most of them run between $25-$45. To get to South Beach, it costs approximately $32.

Visit Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, the villa that Queen Elizabeth and Pope John Paul II have visited in the past. You can spend hours exploring the 10 acres that the villa sits on. Take walks through the gardens, spend some time at the waterfalls and fountains, and take pictures at the reflecting pools. You can walk between the stone balustrades that hold decorative urns filled with flowers from the region. After looking around the grounds, you can then spend time exploring the 34 rooms that are designed in a Renaissance style.
