This is a nice, low-key hotel. The staff touts its homey, comfortable feel, and I think they're right to do so. The suites aren't huge, but they're plenty big enough for relaxing between meetings or tourist excursions. One of the things I like best about this hotel is the grocery service (which makes the full kitchen an asset). The also serve breakfast every day and a light dinner on weeknights. I love the views from the lobby and the from the pool of the Trump Tower and the Tribune building. It's a great location for shopping, bar hopping, and sight seeing along the river.

Homewood Suites is a sufficiently nice hotel that is completely sufficient to helping you do the things you need to do in the area sufficiently. Obviously, I don’t think it has much “wow” factor, and the styling of the hotel is quite conservative. However, sufficient can be exactly what you’re looking for, and the location is pretty nice. You can grab an excellent drink at Sable, or order what is arguably the finest steak in town at David Burke’s Primehouse. If you’re feeling curious, Jimmy is a nearby lounge that’s also sorta-secret.
Homewood Suites’ name is quite telling, as its rooms have a spacious layout that ranges from suite to studio. This is a nice place for families who are looking for a bit of extra space or kitchen access. There are also mobility-accessible options for those who have difficulty getting around.

This hotel isn't particularly glamorous, but it's clean and comfortable and the staff is incredibly nice. Each room here is a suite and comes with a kitchen, which can be nice for budget-conscious travelers looking to save a few dollars on food costs. The hotel also serves breakfast, and if you're staying Monday through Thursday, dinner, too. Although with Eataly just down the block, you might be tempted to venture beyond the hotel during mealtime.

The Homewood Suites is a high-value hotel in the two to three star range. As the name says, all the rooms are suites, which is great for families on a budget. You almost don’t need the kitchen, though, because of the free hot breakfast served all week and the evening “manager’s reception” Monday through Thursday with heavy hors d’oeuvres and wine and beer. There’s a decent gym with cardio machines and free weights and a really nice rooftop pool with lots of window-walled natural light. The rooms are functionally comfortable -- the sort of rooms you come back and sleep well in because you’ve been out walking in the city all day and because they didn’t cost that much to start with. The lobby is nice – not posh, not run down -- and I hung out here a couple times drinking the free coffee and premium tea they keep fresh all day. One concern is the two slowish elevators for too many guests, which could be a problem if the plan is to hang out staycation style in the hotel but just a minor inconvenience if you’re “up, breakfast and out” for a day on the town. Overall: comfy, clean and well located.Recommended for:Family Travelers

I loved this place because I keep a strict diet (I eat the same foods every day for breakfast and lunch) and I could use the kitchenette to stay on regimen. I just got coffee but the breakfast they give you with the room price looked pretty good. It was clean, quiet, right downtown and the gym was above average.

I forgot I was in Chicago for a moment when I drifted off from reality in my hunting lodge fantasy. Meaning the place is decorated like a cozy All-American lodge. The duck logo matches the hotels aura, and has a pleasant atmosphere that even Elmer Fudd could appreciate. Homewood is right by Big Bowl, which is one of my favorite local restaurants. The pool is nice with windows, and I got an amazing view of the city while I swam. When you are finished sleeping and absorbing the home-y lodge-y-ness of it all, or if you are going quackers from being in-doors, you can get on a close-by Wendella water taxi where you will get a unique view of the city and may even spot some of your beloved aquatic feathered friends, I know you are a duck lover, I could feel it. This is a one of the best hotels in Chicago. They really do make you feel like you are at a luxurious lodge, meanwhile, Chicago is awaiting your arrival just outside the door.Recommended for:Luxury Travelers
