    Victoria Peak

    181 reviews

One of the best places to enjoy the view of Hong Kong! There is a tram to go up top, but I highly recommend hiking to the top. It's not a hard walk at all. And it's rewarding at the end. :) Hong Kong is green, much more than you thought. Walking on the hiking path, and feel the freshness! ...

It's the best way to get around Hong Kong, if you don't mind escalators. There's shops, ATMs, bakeries, and malls nearby as well. Quick, efficient, and clean -- it's perhaps the best metro system in the world.

    Cheung Chau

    5 reviews

There's no motorized vehicle in the island. Small enough to walk around the island in one day, offers a beautiful view of the area. Only 40 minutes ferry ride from Hong Kong Island harbour. Surrounding islands are great places to travel in Hong Kong, and Cheung Chau was one of my favourite. There's a cave that alleged to be the ...

    Lamma Island

    25 reviews

This is a really nice day trip, being out on the harbor provides an excellent view of the city, some of the coastal mansions that are otherwise hard to see, and the yacht harbor really highlights how much money there is in Hong Kong right now. The highlight of the trip however, is the seafood on Lamma island, fresh heaping ...

    Hysan Place

    5 reviews

Brand new Hysan Place recently (and finally) opened at the old site of the Mitsokushi department store after years of construction in Causeway Bay. The building itself is very cool and futuristic. Check out the ultra long escalator that climbs 4!! floors and the Star Trek-esque restrooms. It is anchored by the third Apple Store-HKG, Duty Free Galleria, and other ...

    Mid-levels Escalator

    31 reviews

Haha, totally random thing, but fun to go up and down. There were over 20 segments I think. There's a lot to stop by along the way, whether you want to eat, shop, or get a beauty treatment. I imagine in the mornings most of the people are headed to work, but at night people are bar-hopping and enjoying the ...

    A Symphony of Lights

    55 reviews

I recommend watching this from a boat. You feel closer to it and the lights reflecting off the water around you make it all the more fun. A fun little bit of entertainment to enjoy at night before continuing on your way. The narration is broadcast in different languages depending on the day, so pick your day accordingly or tune ...

    Pacific Place

    14 reviews

When I lived in Hong Kong for two months, this was my go-to place. I loved this mall. The basement had loads of food stuffs including a Canadian hamburger place (don't know if it's still there). For everyday tourists, don't know if it would be such a draw, but if you're staying longer than a week, it's a nice place ...

A night at Happy Valley Racecourse is a fun night out and a chance to experience a mixture of intense male Hong Kongers gambling and young expats mingling and enjoying the food, beer, and horse races.

    Temple Street Night Market

    52 reviews

An experience like nothing else! The bright lights, pungent smells of incense and food vendors as well as the pulsing sound of whatever pop star is hip at the moment makes an exciting atmosphere to shop for fun souvenirs or just gawk at some of the fun and wild things being sold.

    Stanley Market

    50 reviews

People say it's touristy but I like going to this laid back part of the island with friends or family ideally on weekend - there are plenty of cosy restaurants in the area. I don't normally buy things here but if you have time, check out the market as well.

    Victoria Harbour

    68 reviews

One of the most iconic urban scenes in the world. It is awe-stricking just flying in, but also impressive from the water, and the tops of the buildings which provide its backdrop. Definitely see it at night too.
