1450 Ala Moana Blvd, #2250, Honolulu, HI 96814
    20 reviews

Although this is mainly a store, I go for the food court upstairs. Very authentic Japanese food. It would mKe a person from Japan right at home. The food is mostly inexpensive. The book store and gift sold downstairs are also very interesting.

    Marukame Udon

2310 Kuhio Ave Honolulu, HI 96815
    26 reviews

Absolutely killer spot for freshly made udon noodles in the heart of touristy Waikiki. Grab a tray and order cafeteria-style. Don't forget to pick up some of the giant-sized tempura (yum, Japanese-style onion rings). Bonus: it's open late.

    Waiola Shave Ice

2135 Waiola Street, Honolulu, HI 96826
    15 reviews

This is what defines shave ice from inferior snow cones: Delicate and melt-in-your-mouth, you won't have to go to the dentist after for cracked teeth. Waiola was my first experience with shave ice when I still lived on Oahu. The mango shave ice is particularly delicious and made with real fruit. Of course, the azuki (red bean) is an island ...

Uncle Clay's House of Pure Aloha

    820 West Hind Drive

Best shaved ice ever. Ice is very fine, melts in you mouth. The syrups are home made and the ice cream is gourmet. I loved the different mix of flavors.

    Tiki's Grill & Bar

2570 Kalakaua Ave, Honolulu, HI 96815
    28 reviews

To be honest, I wasn't expecting much of Tiki's Grill & Bar except being a fun tourist spot for a few drinks and food. Little did I know that the food is amazing! I had the Duck Duet ($29), a piece of duck breast and a leg with lots of fancy trimmings. It was ample, flavorful and crispy (like Peking ...

    Ono Hawaiian Foods

726 Kapahulu Ave, Honolulu, HI 96816
    6 reviews

Best Hawaiian food in Honolulu. Many famous people have patronized this small restaurant over the years. Their pictures line the walls. Be sure to get hear early. There are not many tables and a line forms early. My favorites are the Lau Lau which is pork and fish wrapped in luau leaf similar to Spanish and steamed. Their Kailua pig, ...

Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar

2552 Kalakaua Avenue, Honolulu, HI, United States
    10 reviews

Sansei offers very good sushi in a great atmosphere. The restaurant has a big lanai (balcony) overlooking Waikiki Beach - a great place to take in a sunset while you eat. The sushi is very good, although I recommend avoiding the award winning specials (just so-so) and sticking with the more traditional ngiri (yellow tail was amazing). Its reasonably kid ...

    Diamond Head Market & Grill

    3158 Monsarrat Ave, Honolulu, Hawaii
    14 reviews

If you are heading to hike up diamond head, make sure to stop at the Diamond Head market in the morning. Their coffee is terrible (fortunately there is a Coffee Bean across the street) but they make amazing, homemade scones that are like nothing you have ever tasted. Rich, moist, sweet and big. I am still thinking about them 4 ...

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co Restaurant & Market

1450 Ala Moana Blvd, Honolulu, HI 96814
    5 reviews

This is the only Bubba Gump restaurant in the world I would give four stars to. The view, service and atmosphere are all superb. While the food isn't any different from other Bubba Gumps in the world, I always manage to have a better time here.
