    Rainbow Drive-In

    27 reviews

One of my favorite places to eat when I visit Honolulu. The boneless chicken and strawberry slush float are my two favorite. Kimchee fried rice, spam and eggs, Portuguese sausage and rice are good breakfast choices.

Although this is mainly a store, I go for the food court upstairs. Very authentic Japanese food. It would mKe a person from Japan right at home. The food is mostly inexpensive. The book store and gift sold downstairs are also very interesting.

    Marukame Udon

    26 reviews

Absolutely killer spot for freshly made udon noodles in the heart of touristy Waikiki. Grab a tray and order cafeteria-style. Don't forget to pick up some of the giant-sized tempura (yum, Japanese-style onion rings). Bonus: it's open late.

Bubbies Homemade Ice Cream & Desserts

Their mochi is so great and they have a variety of weird and awesome flavors. They all taste great, though! Next time I go, I'm trying the highly recommended cake.

    Waiola Shave Ice

    15 reviews

This is what defines shave ice from inferior snow cones: Delicate and melt-in-your-mouth, you won't have to go to the dentist after for cracked teeth. Waiola was my first experience with shave ice when I still lived on Oahu. The mango shave ice is particularly delicious and made with real fruit. Of course, the azuki (red bean) is an island ...

Uncle Clay's House of Pure Aloha

Best shaved ice ever. Ice is very fine, melts in you mouth. The syrups are home made and the ice cream is gourmet. I loved the different mix of flavors.

    Tiki's Grill & Bar

    28 reviews

To be honest, I wasn't expecting much of Tiki's Grill & Bar except being a fun tourist spot for a few drinks and food. Little did I know that the food is amazing! I had the Duck Duet ($29), a piece of duck breast and a leg with lots of fancy trimmings. It was ample, flavorful and crispy (like Peking ...

They are known as "local style comfort food" located in two area of Honolulu one off Hopaka and one on Kapahulu you can always find this establishment busy for all to try what comfort food the island has to offer. Nico's at Pier 38

    22 reviews

The food is great and you don't feel like you've been robbed (a very common feeling at any restaurant in Honolulu) Every Friday they have the Hawaiian food and music but I love the rest of the week. The Catch of the Day it's always the best!

    Ono Hawaiian Foods

    7 reviews

Best Hawaiian food in Honolulu. Many famous people have patronized this small restaurant over the years. Their pictures line the walls. Be sure to get hear early. There are not many tables and a line forms early. My favorites are the Lau Lau which is pork and fish wrapped in luau leaf similar to Spanish and steamed. Their Kailua pig, ...

Located not far from the campus of Chaminade university on Oahu rest this humble establishment in a little strip mall. The food is of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern influence and for those who love adventures in food this is a must try!!!!! Their pita used to make these delightful 'sandwiches' are homemade daily and can be sold separately if you wish to ...

    Lulu's Waikiki Surf Club

    19 reviews

LuLu's is an eatery slash sports bar on Waikiki beach at the end of the touristy strip near the Zoo. Pull up a seat at the long counter top facing the beach to enjoy the sunset in comfort or just watch the tourists go bye while enjoying the ocean breeze.

Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar

    10 reviews

Sansei offers very good sushi in a great atmosphere. The restaurant has a big lanai (balcony) overlooking Waikiki Beach - a great place to take in a sunset while you eat. The sushi is very good, although I recommend avoiding the award winning specials (just so-so) and sticking with the more traditional ngiri (yellow tail was amazing). Its reasonably kid ...

GOOD Ice Cream! It was raining cats and dogs in Honolulu Hawaii.. and I decided I wanted Ice Cream!!! When else are you supposed to get it!? Plus it was pretty close to where I was. When I got to the store, there was no one in line. :D Sweet! I tried samples of a few flavors, all of them ...

    Diamond Head Market & Grill

    14 reviews

If you are heading to hike up diamond head, make sure to stop at the Diamond Head market in the morning. Their coffee is terrible (fortunately there is a Coffee Bean across the street) but they make amazing, homemade scones that are like nothing you have ever tasted. Rich, moist, sweet and big. I am still thinking about them 4 ...

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co Restaurant & Market

    5 reviews

This is the only Bubba Gump restaurant in the world I would give four stars to. The view, service and atmosphere are all superb. While the food isn't any different from other Bubba Gumps in the world, I always manage to have a better time here.
