    Like Like Drive Inn Restaurant

    4.5

This is home cooking, Hawaiian style. I love it. The loco moco is worth a try, as is nearly everything else. The food here is inexpensive, but expect a wait if you go during a busy time.

    Grace's Inn

The mochiko chicken and teri chicken lunch plates were good, but nothing that blew me out of the water. Mac salad was really tasty. They have a pretty extensive menu and prices range from $5-8.

    Popeye's Chicken & Biscuits

Five stars for offering something you can't find at any Popeye's on the mainland: chicken curry rice bowls! And of course, their spicy fried chicken is the best!

    Little Cafe Siam

    4.5
    2 reviews

I had been coming to Ala Moana for decades but I only recently tried Little Cafe Siam, influenced by a great coupon my family had. The food is indeed tasty if your palate is seeking Thai food. The spring rolls are fresh and the dipping sauces are quite tasty. LIttle Cafe Siam is now on my radar for a great ...

    Panini Grill Sandwiches

Panini Grill is a stand located within the Makai Market in Ala Moana Center. I used to be completely obsessed about the sandwiches here. While they aren't light, they are incredibly big and delicious. Cheese and meats are grilled between focaccia bread and come out gooey and tasty. They also sell whole chickens, which, I suppose, is also a nice ...

    Hank's Haute Dogs

Came here on my last night in Hawaii. It's located in the International Center - think tourist trap. I was suggested this place by a friend. It's all right for a hot dog, nothing too special, but I think the ones inside Honolulu not here are better.

    Honolulu Burger Co

    1 review

For their locally sourced ingredients, few burger establishments can beat the Honolulu Burger Company. They get pretty much all their beef from the big island. The service is great and full of aloha. There is no wonder this place is popular with locals as well a tourists. You have to try their truffle fries (or order the sweet potato fries ...

    McDonald's

Oh, the memories I've had at the McDonald's in Ala Moana. While the ambience is lacking—it's located on the lower level away from the sunlight—they have a lot of dining space and it's a comfortable place to eat.

    Lahaina Chicken Company

    3
    2 reviews

Lahaina Chicken Company serves entrees with freshly cut meats. It's not particularly cheap, but at least you know you're getting actual unprocessed meats. It's sort of a hofbräu in the middle of the food court. Not a bad addition to the mix.

    Zippy's Dillingham

Zippy's a good place for fast local Hawaiian food. Items range from saimin, katsu, poke bowls, and their popular chili. Most of the chains are open late and some are 24-hours.

    Dairy Queen / Orange Julius

You can't deny the appeal of a Dairy Queen combined with an Orange Julius. It's like getting two great mediocre fast food chains at once. I remember how much I loved Orange Julius in the days before I ever had Surf City Squeeze or Jamba Juice. Now, it just seems like a plain relic of the past... like watching VHS ...

This Panda Express doesn't really differ from others except perhaps in their good service. The staff here are capable at quickly serving a large number of people.

    India Cafe Curry Express

    1 review

India Cafe Curry Express is a curry cart located on the top floor of the Navy Exchange shopping center. Surrounded by other quick dining options, India Cafe is hard to recommend. Service was amazingly friendly and food was tasty, but the price for oily, average Indian food was just too high. And for God's sake, skip the roti bread. $2 ...

Well, when you are in the Waikiki area and it is after 11pm on a weeknight, and you are hungry after a 5 hour flight from the mainland, where are you going to eat? Not a lot of choices, especially something quick and on a budget! So why not Burger King? This one is on South Beretania. They have those ...

    Mama's Spaghetti

I don't know what the deal is with this "Italian" eatery. The sauces are always so watery it's as if I'm eating soup noodles half the time. Portions are slightly small and the prices aren't too reasonable. Not a fan.
