Hopdoddy has one of the best burgers in Austin, but be prepared to wait a bit to eat since the line usually wraps around outside.
Once inside the wait seems to speed up a bit, and the bar is situated alongside the line so that you can order a drink or milkshake while waiting to help pass the time.
I've been 3 times, and each time I went it was better than the previous, but only because of what I ordered.
The first time I tried their turkey burger variation and was very disappointed. Although I understand turkey burgers aren't their specialty, it was still really dry and underwhelming. I never have a problem finishing my food but I left a good portion of it sitting on my plate.
The second time I went I tried the Llano Poblano (pepper jack, roasted chiles, bacon, and chipotle mayo) and thought it was delicious.
On my most recent visit I tried the El Diablo (pepperjack, carmelized onions, habanero & serrano peppers, chipotle mayo) and was very impressed. It had just the right amount of spiciness to give it a big kick, but not to the extent to cause you to sweat. I think this one will be my "go to" choice.
Most (or all?) of their ingredients are from local farms. I noticed they had Diet Coke but all of the other sodas I'd never heard of, so I'm assuming they may be local too.

You have to try the Magic Shroom! No, not that kind. But doesn't a juicy burger with mushrooms, goat cheese, and pesto sound amazing! Hopdoddy makes some good burgers and nothing on the menu is over 10 bucks!
