I had a hell of a time finding this place, although it is technically easy to find. It's right in Chow Kit and just a few minutes from the Chow Kit LRT stop. I guess there is just so much going on at street level with the hawkers, I was just distracted. Or I'm just naturally dense. Anyway, it's right next to 7-11.

So I was in a bad mood when I showed up, and there was literally an overturned garbage bin just outside the entrance with animals enjoying frolicking in the garbage outside, so I was sure this place was going to be nasty, but actually inside it was very clean inside.

The staff are nice, and there are female only dorms which few places have. There are party hostels in the city, but this one just feels clean and relatively quiet and is the same price as other places with dorms at RM 30. There are no windows in the dorm rooms, and you can feel a bit trapped inside, but there's wifi in the dorms, three computers with access to the Internet in the lobby, and an area with couches a selection of movies and book exchange. There are also two cats, so try not to be alergic to those or to let them out when you go outside.

Outside there aren't that many tourists, so you can see what a normal street market looks like. Chow Kit is a really good place for food hawkers.

This hostel is easy to locate as the 7-11 is the landmark whenever you ask anyone who is familiar with the place they will just tell you to find a 7-11 with a tall building next to it. It actually seems impractical because there is so many 7-11 like that. The rooms and the dorms are nice but the mattress is a let down because they stack the mattresses that means they don't really change the mattresses often. I actually had a good time with the staff here as they were actually very accomodating although i was there just to hang around. They actually do segregate gender dorms which makes this hostel a little bit more unique maybe to cater to muslim customers. They have all the basic necessities for travellers who needs them. There is also in-house cat tenant. Chow Kit is actually one of the nastiest place to be. A word of advice never go out in the middle of the night without company in Chow Kit. This place is actually a red light district for transvestites and also there are many touts who are still roaming freely extorting money from people who are just walking to see what is the market place is all about. I would not go there to have a look at those places though.
