For a hostel, it’s not that bad. I liked the computers offered for guests in the lobby, because any 20-something that checks into the hostel probably wants to check up on all their social networks. Also, they had some complimentary pastries in the dining area and cookies at the front desk, which is something finer hotels could offer their guests. ...

Expect to be one of only a handful of English-speaking diners at this small, family-owned restaurant in Boston’s Chinatown. Though the menu leans toward Taiwanese and coastal cuisines—the soup dumplings filled with pork, crabmeat and a delicate broth and the scallion pancakes are not to be missed—you’ll also find skillfully executed Sichuan dishes, like the sliced fish, revered for it’s ...

I love this spot. It's my must-go whenever I'm feeling the effects of the cold weather. Nothing warns you up quite like a bowl of soup and the soup here is beyond compare. Pho Pasteur is a Boston staple and has been recognized time and time again for some of the tastiest noodle soup around.

This place is far, far, better than the other pastry shop down the street and although their prices are a bit more expensive, ALL the egg tarts here are delicious no matter what kind of you get! They have authentic Chinese / Asian cakes of all sorts and every pastry comes tasting fresh, flaky and flavorful; just how I recall ...

I first went to Jacob Wirth's to prepare my tastebuds for a trip to Bravaria, and I must say, they certainly cover all the bases when it comes to German fare. They've got your soft pretzels, your bratwursts, your schnitzels and your sauerkraut. The place is also a beer drinker's paradise, with 46 different varieties on tap. I always seem ...

Their dumplings here are excellent, but don't expect ANY service at all here. Food wise, they serve a lot more than just dumplings, you can find many variety of eateries from casual snacking (xiao long bao) to a full blown meal Chinese meal with a Taiwanese twist. We got the pork and leek steamed dumplings and Taiwanese pan fried dumplings, ...

I had an extremely enjoyable lunch experience here at Shabu-Zen and I again wish that shabu places in the bay area were more like this. It was pretty cheap and the broth they offer, the lunch specials, the sides and the meat was all in abundance. The service was prompt, clean, and very friendly. We were immediately seated and offered ...

My go-to restaurant when picking up out of town visitors from South Station. I view it as comfort food especially in the cold Boston Winters. Its always steaming hot in the restaurant so probably not a good idea to visit in the summer. There's a variety of soup bases: Chinese Herbal, Black Chicken, Chili (and some other ones I don't ...

One of the Vietnamnese restaurants in the line of restaurants in Chinatown. The service was great, nice and friendly, and also fairly fast. My first experience here was a bit underwhelming. My pho tai was pretty tasty but not as steaming hot as I would have liked it (I take my beef rare on the side so I need it ...

Popular dim sum spot in Chinatown. The Dim Sum is pretty good, the usual variety of shrimp dumplings, shu mai, congee at a fairly cheap price ($25 for 2 people). They are very busy on the weekends. The service isn't the warmest, at the end of each service period, they stop coming around unless you ask for the carts.

Good food and nothing fancy, just as you would expect from its humble name. The fries though are not worth ordering! They're overcooked and lacked flavor. The burgers however were tasty, yet there are better burgers to be found in Boston. Luckily pricing is good and the location is convenient. Atmosphere and service are also good, but again, nothing special.

Storybook swank meets Beantown beauty. Inspired by the Wizard of Oz, Emerald promises sleek scenery, eerily cool lighting, just enough kitsch, and not enough hours in a Boston night. The music is typically upbeat house, perfect for dancing. As for the drinks, I'm enchanted with the Lavender Sparkler, but they also make a wicked Manhattan. The service is some of ...
