Paddle the Chicago River. It is narrow and shady on the North side. Slide past blue herons and turtles and head south to skyscraper canyons downtown.

What a giant space for a craft beer brewery! Open Wednesday through Saturday, there are free first come, first served tours at 6 pm. Aside from the tour, their taproom is a great spot to sample Revolution's beers or pick up a growler. Bonus points for the beautiful shuffleboard table.

I cannot say enough good things about Found! They are the most wonderful, pet-loving place. I've boarded my stubborn and sometimes difficult Shiba Inu there, and they've been nothing but accommodating and have taken wonderful care of my dog. I have also done group training classes here, with Sean. He is amazing! One can tell that he loves his line ...

It's your typical Chicago bar with an extensive craft brew beer list. Bring plenty of cash cause that's all they trade for alcohol here.

    161 reviews

The second oldest ballpark in America, Wrigley Field (home of the Chicago Cubs) is a Chicago institution, and taking in a baseball game here should be considered one of the essential summer experiences in the city. Some of the cheap seats have truly awful views of the field, so pony up a little more and get something on the first- ...

I'm not a fan of zoos. That said, if you are going to visit one, this is a relatively nice one. Conveniently located in a gorgeous park. I hate to see the animals living in captivity but this zoo is more humane than most and has a wide variety of animals.

Home of the Bulls and the main concert venue in Chicago. Fairly institutional and removed from the city. Hard to love it but a relatively efficient and modern place for a major show.

    Big Star

1531 North Damen Avenue, Chicago, IL 60622

Specializing in tacos and whiskey, Big Star is a hipster haven best suited for pregaming and grabbing a quick bite before heading to dance spots like Debonair and Crocodile down the street. But don't get me wrong, you can certainly make a night out of downing $3 whiskey shots and getting to know the people next to you in the ...

Amazing craft cocktails in a speakeasy style bar! You might miss this place as there is no signage out front. Just look for the building on Damen at Wicker Park with graffiti outside. Walk through the heavy velvet curtains and enter into a swanky lounge. There could be a wait at any given night, but the cocktails are worth the ...
