Hotel 373 is a great value in Manhattan as far as boutique hotels go. The extremely friendly staff treated me like a superstar, and they couldn't have made my stay more comfortable. The location is great; safe (I was staying there alone) and so convenient. It's close to the 6 train station and walking distance to many landmarks. The Empire State Building is a block away, which made it easy to find if I was walking up or down Fifth Avenue. I actually walked much more often than I took a cab or the subway.
The hotel is about five years old, with contemporary interiors and everything you need in a room, including a super comfy bed (it actually rivals the Westin's heavenly bed), LCD tv mounted on the wall, free wi-fi, iPod dock, and bath and skin products from Aveda. Although the room is tiny (as most NYC hotel rooms are), it's clean and cozy. Plus, depending on what you're there for, you really only go there to sleep anyways. The lobby is really only the concierge's desk, but there's an on-site Starbucks.

Hotel 373 is not a luxury hotel, but for the fairly inexpensive rates (I stayed there for $250/night), clean and comfortable accommodations, central location, and warm staff, it's great for what it is.

Perhaps the most notable feature of Hotel 373 is the glass wall of the lobby that slides open into a Starbucks. Yes, a real Starbucks (none of that "We Proudly Brew" stuff). Any lack of lobby space or tightness in the rooms is easily made up for by the adjoining coffeeshop which has plenty of seating. Hotel 373 itself is impressively clean and bright, located right on Fifth Avenue, between Union Square and Midtown, and right in the midst of great eateries in Koreatown and "Curry Hill." Rooms provide free water bottles as well as free coffee and tea. Private rooms have air conditioning, flatscreen TVs, and WiFi. Definitely a great bargain for the nice accommodations and impressively friendly staff!

One of the best things about this hotel is its location - it's right on 5th ave and close to all the shopping and restaurants you could want to try. The staff at Hotel 373 are very in tune to the needs of their guests and provide things like a discounted gym pass and discounted breakfast at a nearby restaurant because of their lack of a gym and restaurant of their own.

The rooms are a bit tight on space but the beds are big with lots of bright white bedding, a small desk and complimentary coffee, tea and water bottles. You can always request a robe or a TV in your room and get access to wifi. I like the staff's attention to their guests. They reward repeat guests with personalized gifts on their pillow.
