Hotel Adagio is a hip place to stay in an area surrounded by many other hip things. Within the hotel is a restaurant, the Green Room, as well as a chic bar, the Mortimer Bar. I suppose it’s expected of a luxury boutique hotel such as this one.

The interior is quite nice, with big beds, a nice working table and attractive bathrooms. The gym on premises is relatively large, offering a row of aerobic machines and free weights as well. More important is the hotel’s location. Located on Geary Street, it’s close to a number of affordable and tasty restaurants and bars. This also means it’s closer to the Tenderloin, which some people find a bit sketchier. I can vouch for the coolness of this location, however.

Finally, I really enjoyed talking with the staff. They were very professional and down-to-earth.

I stayed here a few years ago, but had a great experience. The hotel is smaller but clean with a modern twist and in a great location (Union Square).

Yes its in Union Square but nicely decorated space with a good list of sparkling, whites and reds.. Happy hour from 4-7 with crispy pork belly and white corn and goat cheese fritters.

Hotel Adagio is a very nice hotel in the City. I was visiting SF because I had an interview nearby. Hotel Adagio was one of the direct bill hotels, so I ended up staying there. The rooms are quite nice. Very spacious, especially for the city. The room was clean and beautifully decorated. They offer free coffee in the morning and complimentary newspaper. Definitely not a bad option. Unfortunately I was only there for one night. Literally just to sleep, but everything was great. The staff is also extremely helpful and hospitable.

We booked through the hotel website: www.jdvhotels.com, an executive double queen and an executive junior suite. The executive rooms gave us more space and they turned out to be comfortable. We prefer smaller, boutique hotels and wanted a location near Union Square. Having recently stayed in hotels in the U.K. and Manhattan, the average price of under $200 per night for these rooms seemed very reasonable.

We could see Union Square from the windows, which opened and could hear a fair bit of street noise, so had to decide between fresh air or noise at night. The hotel offered lemonade and fresh fruit in the lobby, which we found refreshing after a lot of walking in warm weather. We only tried the restaurant, Cortez, for breakfasts – good selection and quite tasty. The hotel had all the expected amenities in the rooms including wine glasses – always important for my travels, especially in California. Hotel staff was very helpful and congenial.
We had no complaints and would certainly consider staying again.
