Beautiful, modern hotel considered one of the best (highest end) in Barcelona. Rooms were fantastic but location is not the best for exploring the city as you're out by the marina and must walk just to get to where the city itself begins. If you don't care about that and want luxury and seaside views then it's a good option.Recommended for:

This is one of Barcelona's landmark hotels, mostly known for its outstanding view and great location in Barceloneta, right on the ocean. The rooms and ambiance can seem a little bit sterile despite the luxury of it, but the view, pool area and restaurants definetly make up for it!Recommended for:

Needless to say, my first experience with a Ritz-Carlton hotel was preceded with plenty of high expectations. While some of them were fulfilled, I can't say I was particularly satisfied.
SERVICE: As expected, service was amazing. Everyone was friendly and professional, and they treated us with as much respect as one human could treat another without it bordering on creepy. It was great to hear a nice "buenos dias" in the morning. It really reminded me that I was in Spain (necessary, as we had just traveled through a number of other countries). Our group was large and the Hotel Arts staff did an amazing job of sorting everyone in as quickly as they could.
ACCOMMODATIONS: I'm convinced I'll never stay in a hotel this extravagant again. The room was large, the bathroom was elegant and the showerhead—oh, the showerhead!—was like a waterfall. They provided bathrobes, fluffy towels and a power adapter for electronics (be careful not to lose this as they'll charge a huge amount for what can be had online for just 2€).
But this is also where I start to get disappointed. With the high cost of the rooms, it would've been nice to have had a few things handed to us as a gratuity, like water and coffee. The only drinking water in the room were bottles of premium mineral water, and the only coffee they served in the morning was gone at an hour earlier than any sane person would wake. Though, I suppose if you're staying here, an 8€ bottle of water probably isn't a huge deal for you. I would've happily exchanged the CD player sound system (no one uses CDs anymore) for a few bottles of agua.
LOCATION: The beachside location is fantastic. Personally, I would've preferred to be closer to the downtown area, but I cannot fault them for this. The views are also beautiful. We could see the Sagrada Familia from our room window, and both the sunrises and the sunsets.
OVERALL: I can only say that I just liked staying here. The rooms and service were amazing, but I felt like everything else could only be had with an arm and/or a leg. It should also be noted that we paid only a fraction of the high normal price. In the end, the Hotel Arts Barcelona felt more like an impression of comfort hidden under extravagance rather than actual comfort.

I fell in love with this hotel! Not only can’t you walk by a single staff member (at any time of day) without being greeted with a friendly, ‘buenos dias’, but the Hotel Arts embodies the terms class and luxury. The hotel’s Club Rooms, come with their own private butler and if you want an even more personalized service, try staying at one of their 27 apartments with your own personal concierge. Some might feel the hotel’s location is a bit removed from the city center but if you don’t mind taking a 15-20 minute stroll into town (or a 5 minute taxi ride), then its beachside location overlooking Frank Gehry’s famous flying fish, is well worth the short trek. I especially enjoyed the garden oasis with hammocks and a whirlpool, right beside the outdoor pool and beach bar, one floor up from the lobby.Recommended for:

Ok, apparently you can stay here in a suite and have 24 hour butler service, but you can also take a more pedestrian approach and stay in a "normal" room. I happened to have found a great online deal and as a setting off point for a Gaudi Discovery tour it was a perfect location. It has a great pool, is close to the sea, and was decidedly upscale. For the 85 euros I paid per night, I can't say anything but good things, Quality to cost was simply outstanding.Recommended for:
