The Burggarten is a very nice park in the inner city and you can enjoy nice meals and drinks in the restaurant Palmenhaus. This place is very common among people from Vienna in summer.

Take tram no'1 and sit still for half hour: the ride will take you around the city in a circle displaying the main palaces. Best time to do so: dusk. Charge your camera batteries for this.

The Vienna State Opera is among the top three opera houses in the world. I have never seen a better opera performances in the world and tickets can be bought for little money. The opera house is an architectural jewel in the inner city and a absoultly must see of a stay in Vienna.

Sometimes a place you visit resonates years afterwards and you aren't sure why. This beautiful, Art Nouveau building, the space, and the Klimt pieces inside are one such echoing memory for me. Beautiful, open, uncrowded, powerful. Bauhaus art. movement well displayed.

An amazing concert hall! It was just magic! Watched a show here in the Golden Room which was beautifully decorated with big chandeliers! One of the top concert halls in the world! Loved the Mozart Choral symphony! Definitely a top thing to do in Vienna. It was nice to see men make the effort to wear a suit and some ...

The House of music is a pretty modern and interactive museum, that focuses on anything audible. For example, you can conduct a virtual orchestra or walk through the inside of a huge human ear.

The Vienna Mozart Orchestra is a delightfull live performance experience taking you back hundreds of years to Mozart's days. The 30 member orchestra, which combines musicians from the local companies, performs with wigs and costumes of Mozart's period, and plays only Mozart's works (except one) in 3 rotating venues in Vienna between May and October, 4 times a week. Massive complex with so much to see. I stuck to the gardens with the huge rose garden being my favorite. They have ample bench space for sitting that it takes a lot to pull yourself away to see the rest of the city.

I'm pretty sure that this place was the #1 reason my travel buddy wanted to go to Vienna. It was certainly a sight to see, though we didn't get to see any fancy horse shows. The horses were beautiful and the school itself is architecturally lovely. No photos are allowed inside here, either... I'm stealthy like that.
