Hotel Diana

Via Principe Amedeo 4, 00185 Rome, Italy
4 reviews

This hotel is a bit on the older side so it has, unfortunately, a slightly dingy feel. It didn’t have that totally hyper-clean sterile feeling, but then on the other hand it wasn’t the cleanest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. That said, the people at the desk were super sweet and genuine. There was a homey sense to the room. ...

    Er Buchetto

    0.02 mi from Hotel Diana
    4 reviews

Great spot for truly Roman porchetta panini. Er Buchetto is cheap, the service is prompt and it's located conveniently close to Termini. I feel like I had a different experience from those who recommended it to me, as they described getting freshly sliced and curated porchetta panini. While my panino was tasty, he simply handed it to me from a ...

    Ristorante Strega

    0.16 mi from Hotel Diana
    1 review

There are lots of good restaurants in Rome with outdoor seating, but Strega is on Piazza del Viminale, a very quiet, well almost boring square next door to Teatro del Opera. The food was great, the service was warm and professional. Rome hung around us like a velvet curtain of potential. I had a wonderful time with my friends. I ...

Il Gelato di San Crispino - Trevi Fountain

    0.65 mi from Hotel Diana

My wife and I enjoyed our visit to the Il Gelato di San Crispino while we were visiting the Trevi Fountain. We were told that most of the restaurants around the Fountain were tourists traps, but one person suggested we try the gelato San Cripinos, we did and we're glad we took his advice.

    Trattoria Monti

    0.43 mi from Hotel Diana

Delicious food that is mostly mostly marchegiano (from the Le Marche region). In lots of guidebooks, but still a favorite of locals. A reservation here is a must due to the small size of the restaurant.

Palazzo del Freddo di Giovanni Fassi

    0.74 mi from Hotel Diana

Palazzo del Freddo di Giovanni Fassi (or just Fassi, as everyone I know seems to call it), calls itself Rome's oldest gelateria. Of all the gelato places I've visited, it certainly has the oldest feel. It resembles a giant cafeteria, a square with loads of people lined up to place an order. Not the most fun. Even Giolitti in the ...

    Gelateria Fatamorgana - Monti

    0.42 mi from Hotel Diana

Up for some crazy gelato flavors? Then this is the place to go! I had the deep chocolate and the basil/honey/walnut (yes, basil) and both were delicious. I had a hard time choosing though since the range is so wide from classic mint and chocolate to lobster and vodka (no really!). A bit hard to find as it's in a ...

Best Italian gelato I've had in Italy. The flavors are exquisite and sometimes surprising in a good way. It's right next to the Colosseum and it's a perfect little snack as you walk back towards the metro.

One of the many touristy eateries right by the Colosseum, the food is decent and not too pricy, but be advised they do not serve pasta at "lunch," which goes as late as 4 or 5 pm.

    La Carbonara

    0.39 mi from Hotel Diana

Super popular place to eat Roman food, with some innovative twists on classics like pistacchio and pomodoro. The food is delicious, mid priced, and if you go early or late you won't have to wait. In the Monti neighborhood, it's a close place to Termini to get some decent food.

Delicious! Panella is dedicated to the art of fine bread making, so naturally, their store is filled with savory and sweet delights. I ordered a slice of pizza (zucchini flowers and anchovies, from what I can remember) and a piece of supplì (fried risotto balls similar to arancini di riso). The total was 6,70€. Not too shabby, given that the ...
