This hotel more than met my expectations when the bf and I arrived.
Friendly, clean, chic with a tiny spiral staircase, we stayed in double room on the second floor. I'm sure that the rooms with views were super nice but this room was perfect for our needs and budget. We didn't spend much time at the hotel but it had everything we needed.
We picked this hotel from the bf's favorite guidebook writer, Rick Steves, and we were so glad we did! It's near Parc du Champ de Mars in the Rue Cler area. Our guidebook was fairly detailed about the area and it was nice to wander around to get that glimpse of Parisian life. If we had any questions, we could always ask the front desk and they would give suggestions.
When the bf got sick, we could order room service for some tea and coffee and any other snacks that is available for a very reasonable fee.
The hotel is between two grocery stores (one on the same street but closes a bit early and the other is front of the stairs for the metro. You do have to pay for the interwebs and the beds were twins pushed together. The hotel also held our luggage when we checked in super early or checked out. We could be confident in leaving our things there and continued to explore Paris without needing to bring it with us before heading to the train station at 6pm.
