The Hotel Havana has an amazing restaurant/bar/lounge space, called the Ocho Lounge (http://www.havanasanantonio.com/ocho.shtml) that is my favorite place in the city to meet for drinks. It's an elegant space right on the Riverwalk, so it's always lively and perfect for people watching.

Ever since I moved to San Antonio, I have been dying to get to Hotel Havana. I finally did this weekend and, man, I should’ve gone sooner. This is hands down my favorite hotel in the history of hotels. This hipster boutique palace is covered in oak and accentuated with bright popping colors. The details are exquisite, from locally sourced antiques in every room, a dusty, musty basement bar that harks back to prohibition times and, my personal favorite which i had a minor freakout over, a fully stocked SMEG fridge in every room. In addition to the trendy basement bar that often overflows with the younger crowd, there is upstairs restaurant, OCHO, quickly becoming a San Antonio foodie staple. And if you want to leave this oasis of a hotel for some reason, there’s an entrance to the Riverwalk just across the street.Recommended for:Trendsters

Hotel Havana rests on the fringes of downtown but brings a boutique paradise to the quiet end of the riverwalk.
I almost missed the simple pleasures that are to be had at Hotel Havana.
There's the physical metal room keys resting behind the front desk. There's the dark wood floors and trim. There's the casual air of music drifting in and out of ear shot. I'm at once carried away from the city park bums and the black cloud bus lines to a true architectural experience.
The room designs are wholly individual, with furniture reclaimed and rounded from all parts and arranged to make even the most casual design student faun. Each room does come with a SMEG fridge, although colors will vary.
With two of the most lauded bar/restaurant options from any hotel in the city, Hotel Havana is a colorful waltz through old world aesthetics with a flair of modernist art and design.

Hotel Havana is an amazing hotel which was built in 1914. It is rich with Latin inspired decor!! When you first pass it you will notice the beautiful chandelier covered balcony over seeing the river walk. This makes a perfect romantic getaway.
