Hotel La Perle is comprised of two buildings with a beautiful adjoining outdoor courtyard and veranda where you can enjoy your breakfast in the morning. There is also a simply decorated bar and lobby area to take a seat after a long day of walking.
The rooms are decorated with floral wallpaper and heavy drapes but they remain tasteful thanks to the modern furniture and unique chandeliers. The bathrooms have recently been renovated with marble counters and stainless steel fixtures and are spotless.
It is located in the Mabillon area and is surrounded by designer boutiques and a large selection of bars and restaurants. The street is fairly quiet, apart from when there’s a football or rugby game and the bars in the street fill up with sports fans.

Hotel La Perle is perfectly situated for going out in the Mabillon area. This hotel is literally in the middle of bars and pubs on Rue des Canettes and also near to the Saint-Sulpice church. In this neighborhood there are plenty of little restaurants, as well as boutiques and chain stores for fashion. There's metro Mabillon very close by, which gives you quick connection to rest of Paris.
The exposed beams and stonewalls give the hotel a nice cozy vibe. The hotel is traditionally decorated, and almost a bit too old fashioned and busy to my liking. The lobby has a bar and a breakfast area that includes a terrace, which is delightful during the summer. The staff speaks excellent English and is very pleasant. Overall a perfect location for exploring the Parisian nightlife.

For nightlife lovers, it would be difficult to hope for a better location than the lively, yet still intimate, Rue des Canettes while staying in this neighborhood. As for the hotel, I was not a big fan of the lobby or dining area, which I found a bit tacky for a three-star establishment. But La Perle must be doing something right, since the much more charming rooms were booked solid.

The location of Hotel La Perle makes it absolutely a top lodging choice, especially for first-timers to Paris. The St. Germain des Près area is full of lovely cafes and stores. The staff is very friendly and "willing" to speak English. The rooms are small but clean.

Though there are many charming options in the St-Germain-Des-Pres area, Hotel La Perle is an excellent choice, and consistently ranks high amongst visitors. If it's quaint central Paris you are looking for, it doesn't get any better than Rue des Canettes. You're in the middle of myriad dining and shopping options, and just a few steps from Place St. Sulpice and the Jardin de Luxembourg.
