Even though the Lisboa Plaza Hotel is situated near the very busy Liberty Avenue (Avenida da Liberdade), you’ll be happy to note that there are several large buildings between the hotel and the main street that block out the noisy traffic. This boutique hotel has 112 rooms, a small gym, five meeting rooms, several bars and lounges, plus one main restaurant. The restaurant, which is quite large considering the overall size of this hotel, serves a buffet of Portuguese and international cuisine each and every night. There are a lot of details that went into the décor of the Lisboa Plaza Hotel. It’s a very elegant place to stay, and what makes it even better is its central location. Liberty Avenue is a terrific place for luxury shopping, and if you walk down the avenue’s gentle sloping grade for a few minutes, you’ll be in the heart of Baixa, or the downtown area, where there is so much to see and do.Recommended for:

This hotel looked and felt very dated and not in a classic, elegant way. The downstairs lobby, restaurant and common sitting areas were all covered in marble tile that looked yellowish instead of white. The common sitting rooms looked as if they had been furnished by a vintage store. The room floors looked really dusty and old and the hallways seemed very narrow. I was not a fan of the rooms because they just looked so cheap. The hotel lighting had a yellowish hue and didn’t like any of the design choices of the furniture. My favorite part of the hotel was the rooftop terrace that they had had where you could sunbath and the self-service, non-alcoholic bar was a nice touch. The other advantage of this property is that is located on a backstreet so it is a little more quiet and private than the other hotels in the same area.
