cutest and most charming hotel in downtown. easily walkable to many eateries and things to do, and close to public transportation. amazing staff, free umbrellas when raining, and really good service and the rooms were hella cute.

This is a fabulous award winning "boutique" hotel with high praise for its style, design, intimacy, and amenities - and understandably!
Located in central downtown Portland it is in easy reach of all the main attractions Portland has to offer. That's of course if you want to leave your room!
The rooms are modern, comfortable, clean, and pleasing to the eye as is the decor of the hotel in general with its clean line fittings. There is nothing twee about this hotel!
The staff are very attentive, friendly, and obviously have pride in the hotel. The lobby does look a little like an upscale office building foyer, but the ambience quickly assuages that illusion.
The only drawback is there is no swimming pool, but there is a fitness room.
This is a great place to stay if you want to get away for a few days shopping and relaxation but still be in the main downtown area of Portland.

On downtown’s busy Broadway Street, Hotel Lucia is a stylish hotel that blends sleek modern interiors with late-Victorian architecture. It underwent a facelift (and a name change, from the Imperial) around a decade ago, and today it features sleek, modern interiors decked out with the photography of Pulitzer Prize winner David Hume Kennerly. The rooms here blend modern and traditional design elements to give them an up-to-date, but still comfortingly home-like, feel. There’s also a 24 hour fitness room and plenty of conference space. The staff here are also incredibly charming and friendly, and they seem to have a good staff-to-guest ratio. There’s also a small, chic restaurant on site serving seasonal Northwest and American cuisine. Interestingly, it used to be a Thai place, which is still reflected in the décor here.

I couldn’t tell if this hotel was new with an old vibe or old with a new vibe, but after closer inspection (and asking a most likely dumb question) I found it’s the latter. Keeping in line with boutique hotels, where the architecture varies room to room, the rooms themselves are upscale, plush, with nice furniture and a comfy feel. The hotel has been renovated a few times and now has an eclectic mix of artwork. I was a little taken back by how many black and white photos line the the walls of the lobby and once I saw a big picture of young Jodie Foster in the elevator, again I had to ask. Apparently all the photos are by David Hume Kennerly (a Pulitzer prize winner) and along with the modern statues and pieces of art, they give the hotel a nice touch. Located on Broadway in downtown, it’s close to all the shopping, entertainment and eating variety Portland has to offer.
