This 2-star hotel is in a non-touristy area but well-connected to all of Rome’s main sights and attractions. It’s located on a side street off a main road, so is, for the most part, calm and quiet. The staff is friendly and helpful and the actual structure is more than acceptable. The rooms are clean and comfortably sized compared to other hotels I’ve stayed at in European capitals. And there's a wonderful patio area where you can enjoy Rome's sunny weather almost year-round if you need a break from sightseeing and don't feel like sleeping. Don’t expect a lot of nightlife in this neighborhood, but there are several bus/tram/metro stops steps away making it easy to move around the city...unless there’s a strike. The breakfast in the morning allows you to have a cappuccino and cornetto like an Italian would do. All in all, if you’re on a budget and looking to stay away from the super touristy areas, this could be a good choice.

Not a bad bed & breakfast/basic hotel that is near the Metro A line stop of Manzoni. The hotel is in a good location and well-connected to Rome's transit system. The hotel could use a little sprucing up, but the rooms are nice, and there's air-conditioning. I find the rates a little high for so few amenities. The location is away from the throngs of tourists, but there's really nothing around apart from some cafes (that close at the end of the day) and a pizzeria here and there. It's definitely off the beaten path but this is not necessarily always a bad thing. The staff are helpful, too.

The Luzzatti is a no-thrill 2-star hotel, ideally suited to visitors who don't plan to stay in the hotel all day long. It's an easy 15-minute walk from Termini, 5 from Manzoni Metro station, the rooms are clean, and the staff are friendly. The rates are also quite reasonable by Rome standards. The best feature for me was the room, larger than I expected from a 2-star hotel. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
