One of the best parts of the Monaco is the breakfast. Homemade dishes, various breads, rolls and pretzels, even gluten frees variations are available. Children under 6 years of age eat free. And often, the hotel offers online competitions where you can win free breakfast or overnight stays for blog entries or tweets. The owner also has great tips for trips and excursions in and around Munich. Some people might be overwhelmed by the kitschy decorations, but you might as well fall in love with all the hearts and teddy bears. Time stops when you are back “home” at the Monaco after a hectic day of sight seeing and shopping in Munich’s city center which is just a short walk away.

Don’t let yourself be discouraged by the façade of the hotel's building. The guestrooms of the Monaco are in the upper floors of a not very attractive apartment house. Once you are inside and have found your way up the elevator to the 5th floor, you will find yourself in an almost overwhelming pomp of angels, roses and teddy bears. The owner of the Monaco has a very distinguished Bavarian style, but really wants you to feel at home. Whether you have questions or feel like having an extended breakfast, you will never feel pressured. In the middle of Munich’s most hectic center, close to central station, the Monaco is an oasis of peace and hospitality. The prices are also very reasonable – even compared to many of Munich’s youth hostels.

Angels, hearts and roses decorate the walls and rooms of this small budget hotel close to Munich’s central station. Since the 20 rooms are located on the upper floors of an apartment building, guests have to take the elevator to the 5th floor to check in. All rooms are lovingly decorated in Bavarian country-house style and have a private bathroom. There are single rooms and a few group- and family-rooms with bunk beds. WiFi is free. The fresh and homemade country-style breakfast is available for 8 Euro.
